Isabellenhütte webinar presents new standard in shunt-based phase current measurement

Dillenburg - On 7 June 2017, Isabellenhütte’s current measurement experts will again offer the successful webinar on shunt-based phase current measurement – this time in English – and show how the new shunt-based IPC series avoids the interference to current measurement caused by magnetic fields in the past.

In the webinar, Isabellenhütte will demonstrate the performance range of the IPC series and show which challenges and advantages arise from the use of ISAscale® technology in this new product.

ISAscale® technology is the basis for shunt-based phase current measurement. This innovative approach increases precision and significantly reduces sensitivity to interference in output-side current measurement, particularly in applications such as wind energy, machine tools and central inverters used in photovoltaic systems. That is made possible by digitalised measurement using delta-sigma modulation (∆ ∑). The challenge for the customer is the integration of the digitalised delta-sigma signal into the control unit used in various applications.

The webinar will highlight solutions and explain ways in which developers can benefit from this new standard. Among other things, the webinar will cover:
- Principles of ∆ ∑ modulation
- Performance range of the IPC series
- Demonstration of the IPC evaluation kit for the assessment of the
delta-sigma data stream

The focus of the webinar will be on the technological approach and dialog between experts. Participants need not worry that the event will be a promotional event for the product. That is why ISAscale® head developer Benjamin Seel has agreed to speak at the event. At the end of the webinar, Seel will answer participants’ technical questions. The event will be moderated by Tobias Wolff, who will guide the participants through the topics and discussion.

The webinar will be held in English.

New FMx shunt family: Small and low-ohmic
Isabellenhütte has developed a new range of precision resistors in standard sizes with resistances ranging from 1 to 6 mOhm for applications which require small and low-ohmic shunts. In terms of their construction, the components are also less complex than the current ISA-PLAN®resistance families. And yet, they offer the same performance quality: very good long-term stability, a low temperature coefficient, and low thermoelectric voltages. With the FMx shunt family, Isabellenhütte has

BAX shunt: High-performance component for electric vehicles
Electromobility is steadily gaining ground in the automotive industry, and its relevance is increasing accordingly. With the presentation of its new BAX shunt, Isabellenhütte is now taking due account of the requirements that this trend is imposing on components for high-power battery management systems. In the last year, demand for high-performance shunts for use in electric vehicles has skyrocketed. This is down to the pace of development in the electromobility sector.
