Independent and Concentrated Knowledge – the voice compass

Aachen, July 23, 2008 - The new voice compass (voice-compass.com) is officially available from May 22, 2008. Prefaces by Microsoft and Intervoice open the international compendium for the voice market. Detlev Artelt created the second issue of this reference work by teaming up with top-voice experts Bruce Balentine, Judith Markowitz, Bill Meisel, and others.

The new voice compass starts with refreshing words of Gurdeep Singh Pall, Corporate Vice President of Unified Communications Group at Microsoft. He explains why speech goes mainstream. The second preface of Frank Sherlock, Senior Vice President and Managing Director at Intervoice International, delivers insight of the power and variety of abilities that speech applications really have.

The voice compass was developed with the goal of providing important information about this new and exciting market so that everyone can understand and make speech technology “touchable” and understood. More than 500 companies participated in the creation of the book and the voice compass is updated with the latest information and a lower price than the previous version to make it more available to everyone.

Numerous real-life scenarios give an insider’s view of speech applications and illustrate the topic in an easy-understandable, amusing and informative way. The 640 page work closes with an entertaining story about a fictional day of the author in a world of speech technology. Here the reader can imagine what is possible today and tomorrow and also gets exciting suggestions for the use of voice solutions.
