Press release from: Texas Deer Association

SAN ANTONIO — The Texas Deer Association (TDA) is proud to announce it has partnered with the American Deer & Wildlife Alliance (ADWA) and is supporting the organization’s efforts to help educate the public on deer and wildlife issues. ADWA is a new non-profit organization established to better represent deer and wildlife associations, service providers and equipment manufacturers on a national level.

“As the nation’s largest deer breeding association, we are excited to be a new member of ADWA,” says Karl Kinsel, executive director of the Texas Deer Association. “We will be working closely with ADWA on several new initiatives to grow the industry overall, including ADWA’s title sponsorship of the new show, Stories of the North American Whitetail, airing on the Outdoor Channel. This is first nationally broadcast show to spotlight the deer breeding industry, and we feel strongly that all of us in the industry need to support that effort.”

A new non-profit organization, ADWA partners with companies and associations within the industry to promote their products, services, membership benefits and to encourage overall growth of the industry through education and aggressive public relations. Serving as a ‘PR engine’ for its members, ADWA will broadcast conservation messages to more than 70 million households via the Outdoor Channel and Versus network beginning in July 2008. ADWA is also the title sponsor of Stories of the North American Whitetail, an all-new outdoor program produced by Keith Warren and scheduled to begin airing on the Outdoor Channel in January 2009. For more information, visit www.deerwildlifealliance.org.

Since it was established in 1999, the Texas Deer Association has successfully worked to increase quality hunting experiences for all Texas hunters and to advocate wise management practices, promote research and technology regarding improvements to deer herds through the practice of controlled breeding and genetic improvements. As ‘Proud Stewards of Texas Deer,’ the TDA is the only non-profit organization solely committed to improving the quality of Texas deer herds and growing the deer industry.

In addition to legislative efforts to help the industry, the TDA provides a year-round public education campaign for its members and other deer enthusiasts, which includes a full-color bimonthly publication, Tracks Magazine, that provides updates on current industry news, deer genetics, land management, ranching and game management issues.
