Restaurant owner Chris Cusack launches Checkback, AI for restaurants that answers Google reviews
Chris Cusack, restaurant and bar operator who builds and teaches AI for restaurants, founder of Checkback
"Every review is a guest telling you how the night went. You want to answer every one, but you run out of hours. Checkback writes the reply the way the owner would, and the owner still gets the last word," said Cusack.
To get set up, the owner connects the restaurant's Google Business Profile and fills out one short form: what the place is known for, its hours, what to feature in posts and how the owner wants reviews answered. From then on, Checkback drafts a reply to each new review and a few posts a week, and emails them to the owner, who can approve or change each one. It also checks that the hours and phone number listed on the profile stay right.
Checkback starts with the reviews that come in after an owner signs up, plus the three most recent ones before that. Owners who would rather not pick a reply style can tell Checkback to keep it professional, and it writes in a clean house voice for them. For owners who want to sound like themselves, Checkback models replies on the ones they've already posted on their profile.
Checkback costs $179 a month per location, plus tax where it applies. Beta testers get 28 days free with no card, and the first round of subscribers keeps a founding rate of $99 a month for as long as they stay.
Restaurant owners can join the beta and connect their Google Business Profile at www.checkbackhq.com.
