US Actors Lists Peter Dobson as VIP Talent

PHOENIX, Arizona - September 28, 2026 - Peter Dobson has built a career out of roles people remember. He was young Elvis Presley in Robert Zemeckis's Oscar-winning Forrest Gump. He was Ray Lynskey, the unforgettable ghost next door, in Peter Jackson's The Frighteners opposite Michael J. Fox. He played Chris Shiherlis for Michael Mann in L.A. Takedown, the film that became the template for Heat. USActors.com has added a VIP profile for the Red Bank-born actor, producer, and director. USActors.com allows actors to list their profiles at no charge. Casting directors who search the directory nationwide can now find that work-and a hundred titles around it-on one page.

Dobson was born July 19, 1964, in Red Bank, New Jersey, grew up in Middletown, and trained at the Academy of Dramatic Arts and the Lee Strasberg Institute. Summer stock with the Royal Shakespeare Company in Monterey and study with Sandra Seacat in Los Angeles followed. At 21 he won a national search for Dominic in Tri-Star's musical Sing, from the producers of Fame and Footloose. Hubert Selby's Last Exit to Brooklyn put him opposite Jennifer Jason Leigh. Neil Simon's The Marrying Man came next. Mann used him on Miami Vice and trusted him with Shiherlis. Zemeckis trusted him twice: first as the lead of CBS's Johnny Bago, then as Elvis. Jackson trusted him with Ray. He led USA's Cover Me: Based on the True Life of an FBI Family, played Joe DiMaggio in Norma Jean & Marilyn, and showed up as Morgan on Party of Five, plus Lenny, Where the Day Takes You, Doppelganger, Drowning Mona, and Tales from the Crypt.

He then stepped behind the camera. Choose Life became a Sundance favorite. He has produced Bad Frank, Hotel of the Damned, The Bastard Sons, and Dirty Hands while staying on screen-Hawaii Five-0, Cold Case, the CSI shows, The Ranch, Dice, 3 Days in Malay, Operation Blood Hunt. Festival lists credit him with multiple wins. He stands 6-foot-1 and still talks about directing in Asbury Park.
A production that wants the actor Zemeckis and Jackson both hired can pull that history from a single VIP page. The listing is at https://usactors.com/listing/peter-dobson/.

About USActors.com

USActors.com is a nationwide actor directory that casting directors, producers, and filmmakers can use as a practical tool for casting projects across the United States. Talent is organized so a production can search by city, state, metro area, age range, look, experience, union status, and skills, then contact actors directly from their public pages. The same database covers local hires in one market and multi-state searches when a project shoots in more than one city. Actors list their profiles at no charge. Casting directors use the site to find and consider that talent for work nationwide. Web: https://usactors.com. Dobson listing: https://usactors.com/listing/peter-dobson/.

USActors.com is the public roster a production uses when the next hire might live two time zones away. Actors put up profiles at no charge-headshots, reels, credits, union status, look, home city, travel, and the skills a breakdown names-and those pages stay searchable. Casting directors sort by metro, age, type, and experience, then reach the performer from the listing. One search covers a local day-player and a job that lands in several states. Named actors can be added as VIP profiles so a longer career is easier to spot. The site does not sign anyone, book exclusively, or take a percentage. It is a nationwide casting tool: free for talent to remain listed, open for filmmakers anywhere in the United States to use. https://usactors.com
