'How to win Heart of your Wife' written by Gireesh Sharma released by Mrs. Neera Shastri

Noted women activist, Mrs. Neera Shastri, and 5 Poets of International repute released Gireesh Kumar Sharma's book – 'How to win Heart of your Wife'. Mrs. Neera Shashtri is Vice President, BJP Delhi State, daughter in law of Shri. Lal Bahadur Shastri, Prabhari BJP Mahila Morcha, Advisor to BJP, President Discipline Committee and holds many other designations.

Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Neera Shastri, expressed her thoughts on the conditions of women in India. She started her speech attacking the foeticide, “Female is the originator of the society, she is the developer and the power of the mankind. Unfortunately, at many places she is killed even before her birth, in the womb of another woman.” She added, “In almost 85% of the cases, women have to face biased attitutes at their home both before and after the marriage. After marriage, the treatment to women is not fair and they are bound in many social restrictions. On the other hand there are no restriction on men in the society.”

She also attacked on the dual upbringing standards for boys and girls, “Boys are offered much more opportunities than girl, in education and self development. On one hand development of girls is supressed, and on other hand she is expected to do excellent tasks. She is supposed to take care of everything, display patience, multi-task. Nobody asks a water of glass from boys, but everybody expects a girl to learn household chores as soon as possible ”

Commenting on the condition of working women in society she said, “Working women have double responsibilities and a very tough life. When she is back from office, nobody cares whether she is tired or exhausted, all expects that she should complete all house chores before going to bed. On one hand she has to handle her job and while back at home she is expected to do all the houshold job without even expressing her displeasure.”

Appreciating the book and the author she said, she added, “It is nice that Mr. Gireesh has researched this topic throughly, and come out with a book, that opposes bad practices against women at home, and propagates a positive thought in the husbands to take care of their wives. After marriage, a girl is given many advices from her mother, to make adjustments at home. While to a son, mother always teaches machoism. Further, she quoted a few chapters from the book which she liked personally. She said chapter 1. Women in Indian Society, chapter 2. Wife – Big Hearts, Small Dreams, Chapter 4. Tender Wives – Tough Life and chapter 4. Sweet Home: A No Smoking No Alcohol Zone are very good and explains how to build a strong foundation of married life. She further appreciated the chapter titled 'Thank You in-laws for such a Wonder Ful Wife' for suggesting a husband to pay due respect to his in-laws as much as he expects from his wife to respect his parents.

The program was followed by a Hasya Kavi Sammelan. Deepak Gupta, the poet of International Repute hosted the 'Kavi Sammelan'. Praising the cover of the book, he said that the colour of heart is red, but author has designed it pink, because it is the colour of his wife's saree. This shows that he truly loves his wife. Reciting a poem on an alcoholic husband and his wife, he said:

“Khane-Peene main, main apnee patni ka saath is tarah nibhata hoon,
Woh khana khatee hai, aur main 'pee ke' aata hoon.”
