ClickHelp Enables Teams to Publish Multiple Documentation

ClickHelp, a cloud-based help authoring tool, has announced the public beta release of multi-site setup, a new capability that allows teams to publish multiple documentation sites from a single ClickHelp portal.

A documentation site is the public-facing surface that readers visit, complete with its own domain, branding, home page, and reader experience. With this release, teams can publish several such sites from a single ClickHelp portal. To readers, each one looks like a completely independent website, while authors continue working from one place, with users, file storage, and permissions shared across the portal.

This addresses a common need among teams that publish documentation for more than one product, brand, or audience. Previously, keeping documentation visually and structurally separate for different products or markets often meant relying on multiple tools or building workarounds around a single-site limitation. Multi-site setup removes that constraint by letting one ClickHelp portal serve as the foundation for several independent public sites, each with its own identity.

Organizations can give each product line its own dedicated site, so that documentation for one product doesn't get mixed in with another, and readers land on a site that feels purpose-built for what they're looking for. Companies operating in multiple markets can run separate brands on separate domains, tailoring the look, structure, and even language of each site to a specific audience, while still managing all the underlying content from one place.

Teams that support both end users and developers can keep a public Support Center on one site and a developer-focused knowledge base with API documentation on another, giving each audience a dedicated experience without splitting the authoring workflow. Organizations with strict localization requirements can dedicate an entire site to a single language, ensuring full content separation by domain rather than mixing languages within one site.

The feature is also relevant for businesses that distribute software through resellers or OEM partners. Each partner can be given their own branded documentation site, reflecting their identity to their customers, while the underlying content continues to be managed and updated centrally by the ClickHelp team.

Multi-site setup is currently available in public beta at no additional cost. Organizations interested in trying it can contact the ClickHelp team, who will provide a sandbox portal for building and testing multiple sites with their own content, without affecting their live, production portal.
