JMA Pilani FDP Banasthali Prof Natarajan talks on History of Science

It is a matter of immense pride that Alumni of 2004 established Smt Jamuna Mishra Aademy -JMA Pilani are pursuing higher education in various institutions which include nationally and internationally ranked women's university Banasthali Vidyapith, Birla Institute of Technology and Science BITS Pilani, AIIMS (Bhatinda), National Law School (Kochi) etc.

Everyone in India today talks about Right to Education RTE but forgets that the right to education means the right to quality education which, in turn, implies the right to quality teachers. Quality teacher does not mean qualified teacher but also those who have the characteristics: knowledge, skills, right attitude and passion. Keeping the above in mind, JMA Pilani focuses on human resource improvement for its teachers by conducting Faculty Development Programs - FDP on a regular basis.

On 30 June 2026, well-known academician and popular alumnus of BITS Pilani Prof. BR Natarajan, who has over four decades of teaching and research experience presently at Banasthali Vidyapith, gave a talk to present an overview of history of science for teaching professionals. Principal Mrs Booma Natarajan introduced the expert to the audience, proposed a vote of thanks, and presented a memento to the distinguished speaker.

Professor Natarajan presently teaching Chemical Engineering at Banasthali Vidyapith women's University holds four degrees from BITS Pilani BE (Hons) Chemical, MSc(Hons) Chemistry, MPhil and PhD and had spent over 3 decades at BITS Pilani. The talk by Prof Natarajan focused on history of science and included the importance of studying history, history of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and Economics. He also advised the teachers of concerned subjects to elaborate the overview and conduct an orientation session for students.
