Kingdom of Araucania and Patagonia Strengthens Indigenous Alliances: King of Agonlin Honoured in Paris

Paris, France - 7 June 2026 - The Kingdom of Araucania and Patagonia marked an important institutional milestone on 7 June 2026, celebrating the fiftieth birthday of His Royal Highness Prince Antoine V and the first anniversary of his reign. The event was distinguished by the exceptional presence of His Majesty Dada Agonlinhossou Yêto Kandji, King of Agonlin, whose participation underscored the growing diplomatic significance of alliances among indigenous monarchies.
His Majesty the King of Agonlin was formally received into the Order of the Steel Crown, a distinction highlighting the mutual recognition between the two Royal Houses and their shared commitment to cultural heritage, dignity of peoples, and intercultural dialogue. His presence gave the ceremony a heightened symbolic and diplomatic dimension.
A formal luncheon brought together approximately thirty participants around Prince Antoine V, reflecting the Kingdom's dedication to strengthening its institutional, cultural, and diplomatic ties. The gathering reaffirmed the role of the Kingdom of Araucania and Patagonia within the wider community of indigenous nations.
During the ceremony, poet Ximena Gautier Greve was elevated to the rank of Dame of the Order of the Steel Crown following a notable reading of her work Apology Mapuche.
His Royal Highness Prince Antoine V received the Grand Collar of the Order of the Steel Crown, the insignia of the Monarch and a symbol of dynastic continuity. The Chilean NGO Tribunal de Ley Natural Universal also presented an official distinction recognising the Prince's environmental commitment.
A major highlight of the day was the signing of the Global Indigenous Monarchist Alliance, concluded between His Majesty the King of Agonlin, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammad Soleh Ridwan of Pajajaran, and Prince Antoine V. This alliance represents a significant step forward in cooperation among indigenous monarchies and strengthens the international presence of the Kingdom of Araucania and Patagonia.
Prince Antoine V also announced the elevation of Paul Wassilieff d'Espalungne to the title of Baron of Santa‐Rosa, in recognition of his service to the Kingdom.
The day began with a moment of remembrance at Montparnasse Cemetery in honour of King Antoine II, the Kingdom's third Sovereign. Prince Antoine V also paid tribute to Jean Raspail, whose Patagonian literary vision continues to inspire the cultural identity of the Kingdom.
Through these actions, the Kingdom of Araucania and Patagonia reaffirms its historic mission: to uphold the dignity of the Mapuche people, strengthen its alliances, and continue the work initiated in 1860 by Orélie‐Antoine de Tounens.
