Droidal LLC Appoints Jegan Karunakaran as Chief Technology Officer

Droidal, a healthcare AI company focused on Revenue Cycle Management, today announced the appointment of Jegan Karunakaran as Chief Technology Officer. In this role, Karunakaran will lead Droidal's technology vision and engineering execution, with a focus on accelerating product innovation, strengthening platform scalability, and delivering deeper client outcomes.

Karunakaran brings more than 26 years of technology leadership experience across payments, healthcare, AI, machine learning, and large-scale enterprise platforms. He is recognized for building high-performing engineering organizations where accountability, execution, and customer impact are closely aligned.

Karunakaran most recently served as Head of Engineering at Venmo, where he led the core payments platform to $250B+ in annual transaction volume across 65M+ monthly active users. He has also held leadership roles at PayPal, eBay, Visa, and Kaiser Permanente.

Before his role at Venmo, Karunakaran served as Interim CTO of PayPal Giving Platform, where he architected systems processing $19.6B in annual donation volume across 40+ markets and 56M+ active donors.

He also led eBay's Applied ML team, building NLP models at scale, self-initiated eBay's internal Machine Learning Special Interest Group, and deployed production AI systems at Venmo and PayPal for personalization and intelligent recommendations.
