CoSign Digital Signatures Automated Business Processes

ARX (Algorithmic Research), a leading provider of digital signature (standard electronic signature) solutions, and its Australian/New Zealand partner TME Digital Signature, have implemented a CoSign® digital signature solution at Marrickville Council, the local government council in the Inner West region of Sydney.

Previous to CoSign's implementation, Marrickville Council relied heavily on paper in its memo approval processes. The Council creates a significant number of memos each week focusing on a range of activities including: land, building, planning, HR and financial issues, each of which requires numerous signatures for authorizations. As it was both a time consuming and costly process, the Council saw significant value in deploying a digital signature solution that would allow them to break the chain of printing, signing, and then scanning the signed documents back into an electronic format.

"With its off-the-shelf deployment and intuitive use, CoSign will help us consolidate and advance our business processes," explained Carlos Loureiro, Manager of Information Systems, Marrickville Council. “It is a tremendous benefit that the time and money the Council saves on process implementation can be rededicated to its ratepayers.”

By employing CoSign, Marrickville Council will be able to reduce their workflow process from several hours per memo authorization, to a matter of minutes. In addition, their elimination of the need to print documentation for signing purposes will significantly reduce their paper-related expenses.

"Our work with Marrickville Council provides us with an important opportunity to highlight the benefits CoSign’s advanced technology has to offer to local government agencies searching for a way to transform and streamline their business processes," said Ilan Patashnik, COO, ARX.
