SureWork Home Care Solutions Highlights Growing Need

Victoria, BC - [January 21, 2026] - New findings from the Office of the Seniors Advocate, British Columbia, highlight the growing pressure on seniors' services as the province's population continues to age. Seniors aged 75 and older are projected to increase by 49% over the next decade, rising from 517,000 to 772,000 by 2035. As life expectancy rises, the growth of the seniors' population continues to outpace that of the general population, making it increasingly critical to ensure that adequate supports and services - including home support and long-term care services - are available to meet this demand.

In addition to demographic change, the Office of the Seniors Advocate has emphasized the increasing strain on families who are stepping into caregiving roles. Adult children report high levels of stress as they care for aging parents while managing employment and family responsibilities, often without prior training or support. Spouses have also shared the difficulty of caring for a partner whose health is declining while navigating the challenges of aging themselves. Limited access to publicly subsidized services such as home support, assisted living, and respite care has further intensified emotional and financial pressures for many families.

These findings reflect a growing reality across British Columbia: in-home care is a critical component of senior support, and many families require additional layers of care as needs become more complex.

SureWork Home Care Solutions supports seniors and families by providing personalized, consistent in-home care that adapts as needs change. By offering reliable day-to-day assistance, SureWork helps seniors remain safely at home while easing the caregiving burden on families.

"As the needs of seniors grow, families need practical, reliable support they can depend on," said Yehu Levy, Marketing Director of SureWork Home Care Solutions. "In-home care plays an essential role in helping seniors maintain independence while giving families peace of mind and stability."

By focusing on continuity, flexibility, and person-centred care, SureWork Home Care Solutions helps British Columbians navigate the realities of aging - supporting seniors to age at home with dignity and helping families manage care with confidence.
