South Tyrolean Rosengarten as a design object: Tobias Demetz combines craftsmanship, art, and history

Bolzano, January 9, 2026 - From the heart of South Tyrol comes an art object that combines alpine character, centuries-old craftsmanship tradition, and contemporary design: with his work "Rosengarten," artist Tobias Demetz presents an exclusive wall installation - handmade from steel, wood, and light - that reinterprets alpine symbolism. A highlight for interior designers, collectors, and anyone looking for unique pieces with soul. Demetz, known for his work with natural materials, takes up the striking South Tyrolean mountain range with "Rosengarten" - not as kitschy Alpine romanticism, but as a clear, reduced sculpture with depth. Old roof shingles, engraved steel, and indirect LED lighting form a modern assemblage that brings the myth of the Dolomites into the room. Each object is unique - designed and crafted in elaborate handwork.

As the basis for the new brand and web presence of UnikaTops, under which Demetz sells his work, the creative process was digitally extended. The Bolzano-based collective Berger+Team developed branding tailored to the product as well as an online presence that reflects its individuality and artistic aspirations - minimalist, high-quality, and user-friendly.

"The challenge was to translate a unique analog object into a digital experience without losing its feel and depth," explains Florian Berger of Berger+Team. With large-scale imagery, a targeted content strategy, and an intuitive CMS, the works can now also make a special impact online.

The "Rosengarten" is more than just a decorative object - it tells a story of origin, craftsmanship, and a sense of home.
