Diskeeper Corporation Points out Risks of Manual

EAST GRINSTEAD, England - Diskeeper announced that manual defragmentation can lead to routine maintenance not getting done, making an automatic defragmenter the only workable solution for this critical task.

No enterprise is immune to the requirements of regular defragmentation in order to maintain peak system performance. However, for most sites manual defragmentation is no longer an option due to the high fragmentation levels and the time required for a defragmenter to run. Faced with this problem, many IT Administrators are likely to postpone a thorough defragmentation process.

This implies that high levels of fragmentation will accumulate leading the way to numerous performance and reliability problems such as longer load up times, continual lags and costly crashes. Even defragmentation, which is carried out quite swiftly when applied regularly, ends up taking hours, making the issue even harder to resolve.

Real-time defragmentation automatically and transparently handles fragmentation as it occurs providing maximum system performance at all times. Diskeeper® 2008 achieves this with a brand new technology called InvisiTasking™ which tackles fragmentation using only idle resources. Thus no intrusion takes place on system performance and system demands.
