TPS - New low pressure sensors with I3C thanks to new ASIC
The new low-pressure sensors of the TPS series from AMSYS / TE Connectivity in Mainz combine state-of-the-art piezoresistive pressure sensing elements with a highly integrated CMOS ASIC for digital signal processing. This powerful combination is housed in a particularly compact SOIC-16 package, making it ideal for space-constrained applications in industrial and medical measurement technology. The integrated CMOS ASIC not only supports conventional serial interfaces but also features an I3C-compatible digital interface that enables significantly higher transmission rates than I2C. At the same time, backward compatibility with I2C is maintained, allowing existing systems to be upgraded or expanded with minimal effort. The I3C interface ensures fast data acquisition, reduced latency, and more efficient power management in system design.
Advanced features include integrated pressure and temperature filters that ensure low-noise signal output, interrupt functions for event-driven control, and a FIFO structure for buffering measurement data. In addition, individual I2C/I3C addresses can be configured via software, allowing flexible integration into complex bus systems. Special attention has been paid to data integrity: the sensors support checksum validation both in internal memory and during communication.
The sensors are available for relative pressure, differential pressure, as well as bidirectional measurements. High measurement accuracy is achieved across the board: in the compensated temperature range from -20 to +85 °C, the total error band (TEB) is only ±1 % of the full-scale value (FS). The sensor provides both calibrated analog output signals and digital data with a resolution of up to 24 bits.
For mechanical integration, various versions are available: in addition to horizontal and vertical hose connectors, there is also a manifold-mount version that can be directly integrated into distribution blocks. This makes the sensors a flexible platform for a wide range of installation requirements.
The TPS series is ideally suited for applications such as ventilators, filter monitoring, leak detection, HVAC systems, or industrial process control-where precise pressure measurement at low ranges is essential. The sensors are delivered by AMSYS directly from Mainz in standard tape-and-reel packaging, suitable for automated assembly processes.

AST H2 - Pressure Transmitter for hydrogen applications
Hydrogen will play a steadily increasing role among renewable energies. However, the processing and handling of this fuel also presents us with new challenges. With the AST2000 and AST4000, AMSYS offers two variants of a pressure transducer specially certified for applications with hydrogen. With the EC79 certificate, these pressure sensors are suitable for use in fuel cells, hydrogen storage tanks and filling stations. The sensors are made from a single…

MS5547 - Digital gel-protected gauge pressure sensor
Gel-protected pressure sensors in SMD housings are very popular due to their wide range of applications, whether in pneumatics, wearables or medical technology. This inexpensive yet robust design is now also available in a version for relative pressure up to 2 bar.
Media resistant gauge pressure sensors like the MS5547 are used in very different areas, such as in medical technology, but also in e-cigarettes. Both a biocompatible silicone gel and…

Pressure sensor AMS 5935 - the power saver in the low-pressure range
The monitoring of everyday wearables, sports and mobile medical equipment is becoming increasingly widespread. The sensors and components in these often battery-powered devices have a high energy requirement which necessitates frequent battery recharging. One bright spot in this field is the new next-generation AMS 5935 low-power pressure sensor which can accurately measure even extremely low pressures in the +/-125 pascal range.
AMSYS (https://www.amsys-sensor.com) has now introduced sustainable sensors to its portfolio…
