Press release from: PrimaDonna Productions

THE OVERTIME THEATER’S FORECAST CALLS FOR "ALL KINDS OF HOT"

WHAT: Continuing its tradition of providing original live entertainment written and performed by locals (and at Overtime, “local” means everything south of Austin and north of Laredo) for locals, The Overtime Theater presents All Kinds of Hot, a part-comedic, part-dramatic look at the lives of San Antonio firemen.

WHEN: Opening Friday, March 21 and running each weekend through April 12.

WHERE: 1216 West Ave (between Olmos and Hildebrand).

TIME: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday curtains are at 8:00 PM. There will be one Sunday matinee at 2:30 PM on March 30.

ABOUT THE PLAY: “All Kinds of Hot” is written by San Antonio fireman Scott McDowell, whose previous play, “A Fireman’s Tale”, premiered at the Overtime Theater in October 2007 and was praised for “deftly weaving funny lines and situations into … real-life facts” (San Antonio Express-News). Like “A Fireman’s Tale”, the new play explores the myths and realities of firefighting, with an unexpected and hilarious take on “The Hero Bizness”. This production is appropriate for anyone age 12 and up, with only mild sexual content and two brief instances of obscenity.

The Overtime will present a special benefit performance of “All Kinds of Hot” on March 27 at 8:00 PM. Proceeds from the show will go to THE BURNED OUT SURVIVORS’ FUND (http://www.bosfund.org), a charity that provides cash assistance to victims of local fires and their families.

CAST: Stephen Brogdon, Christopher L. Dean, Sophie Bolles, Lucia Villanueva, and John Poole

ABOUT THE THEATER: The Overtime Theater was founded in 2006 by John Poole, a San Antonio theatre veteran who sought to create a theater “for people who don’t go to theater” (San Antonio Express-News). The Overtime is dedicated to providing innovative and accessible entertainment at an affordable price; past productions have included the popular “Oedipus! The Musical” and “Poet Faustus”, and most recently, the successful runs of “Flinch Gordon and the Return of Ping the Perilous”, the 2008 SAT Playwrights Festival: “Viva Las Vegas”, and the acclaimed “Sob! Choke! … LOVE!”, which played to sold-out crowds in February. The Overtime is also the home of the newly-founded Next Stage Improv troupe, which performs on Saturday nights at 10:30 PM.

PRICES: Tickets for the show are only $9.00. Thursdays are “Roll the Dice” nights; patrons can roll the dice and pay whatever amount they roll.

TO MAKE RESERVATIONS: Please call (210) 380-0326.
