DER STANDARD - Scholarship in the amount of EUR 9,000 for Urban Wood
The postgraduate MSc Program Urban Wood – Wood Based Building Design for Sustainable Urban Development provides the participants with the necessary skills to manage the design and construction of urban wood-based building projects and will also lead to an improved technological and economical mastery of the material. It is offered by the Vienna University of Technology in cooperation with the Politecnico di Torino and the Dresden University of Technology. In accordance with each institution’s specific field of expertise the subjects Wood-based Material & Building Technology, Restoration and Refurbishment of Wood-based Buildings as well as Wood-based Multi-storey Buildings are taught at the three universities. The lectures will be enhanced by projects and study trips, finally the participants will conclude the MSc Program with a practice-orientated master thesis.The MSc Program Urban Wood is targeted at qualified graduates from the areas of architecture, urban planning and structural engineering who want to take a leading role in ecologically sustainable urban development. The part-time MSc Program takes four semesters and will be taught completely in English. The second class will start on August 25, 2008.
The daily newspaper DER STANDARD will award a scholarship in the amount of EUR 9,000 for the postgraduate MSc Program Urban Wood. The self-contribution is EUR 1,000. The scholarship will be awarded by an expert jury. No legal recourse. Application deadline is April 4, 2008.
