Lincoln University administrator Dr. Antoinette "Bonnie" Candia-Bailey took her own life on January 8, 2024 after enduring a debilitating six month campaign of psychological abuse at work. To date - Lincoln University ignores calls for an independent investigation.

JEFFERSON CITY, USA, January 2, 2025 - A nationwide protest will take place on January 8, 2025 in remembrance and in honor of Dr. Candia-Bailey's last request, "Don't let them sweep this under the rug!" Bonnie was a distinguished, respected and revered administrator at Lincoln University, Jefferson City, Missouri who took her life on January 8, 2024, after enduring a debilitating six-month campaign of psychological abuse at work. She graduated from Lincoln in 1998 and while there, became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. As an alumna, she cared deeply about the institution, writing in her suicide letter, "Lincoln is where it started for me and where it ended." Candia-Bailey documented and reported the abuse of her co-worker, President John Moseley through the proper internal channels at Lincoln University. Lincoln University disregarded the reports and Candia-Bailey found herself further scrutinized. Significant health harm is highly affiliated with bullying and the institutional betrayal and complicity of disregard. Researchers refer to these forms of workplace abuse as processes of dehumanization and traumatization that affect millions of U.S. employees each year. End Workplace Abuse is a national advocacy group which seeks to raise public awareness while promoting legislative change, Workplace Psychological Safety Act. Call to Action: Stand in solidarity with the family, friends and supporters of Dr. Candia-Bailey on the one year anniversary of her suicide as they continue to demand an independent investigation at Lincoln University.

Event Details: The main demonstration will be at the Missouri State Capitol located at 201 West Capitol Avenue in Jefferson City, MO held on January 8, 2025, from 12pm -1pm CST.

Additional State Capitol locations participating in the event 12pm - 1pm local times at State Capitol unless noted otherwise: Sacramento, CA; Springfield, IL; Boston, MA; Lansing, MI; St. Paul, MN Carson City, NV; Trenton, NJ; Harrisburg, PA; Richmond, VA; White House, Washington, D.C.;
