Dr. Steven Levy, CEO of MD Stem Cells, joins editorial board

MD Stem Cells announces that the company’s President and CEO, Steven Levy MD, has joined the editorial board of Clinical Trials in Degenerative Diseases (CTDD). In addition to his role as executive officer for MD Stem Cells, Dr. Levy is Study Director for several pivotal stem cell clinical trials using autologous bone marrow derived stem cells. These including SCOTS –the Stem Cell Ophthalmology Treatment Study (NCT 0192086) , the largest stem cell study in ophthalmology, and NEST- the Neurologic Stem Cell Treatment study (NCT 02795052) , the largest stem cell study in neurology. All are Institutional Review Board approved and registered with the National Institutes of Health on their clinical trials site.

“I’m pleased that the editor and board of Clinical Trials in Degenerative Diseases felt that my contributions to the field of medicine and experience in translational stem cell research warranted being offered this opportunity to help guide their publication”, indicated Dr. Levy. “It is an honor to be allowed to contribute to this critical and expanding area of medicine- translating laboratory and pre-clinical success into treatments for patients.”

CTDD is an open access, peer-reviewed online journal published quarterly by Wolters Kluwer Health|Medknow Medical Research. By offering a high-visibility forum for new insights and discussions, CTDD ensures that trial results will be immediately available. It also gives authors the ability to share the ideas that are at the basis of an on-going trial. The journal’s areas of interest comprise clinical trial protocols and clinical translational papers regarding degenerative disease. It promotes a wide-ranging exchange between basic, preclinical, clinical and epidemiologic outcomes research.
Medknow, part of Wolters Kluwer Health, is one of the largest open access publishers worldwide with more than 300+ medical journals in its portfolio. Their open access policy has resulted in more than a half a million article downloads monthly for all of its journals
Editorial board members for CTDD comprise a premier group of professors, researchers and physicians from a number of countries including Brazil, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Russia, The Netherlands, and the United States. This international group includes key thought leaders in Medicine, Neurology, Cardiology, Radiology, Psychology, Rehabilitation and now, with the addition of Dr. Levy, Ophthalmology and Stem Cell Medicine.
“It is exciting to be at the forefront of regenerative medicine, contributing to developing new strategies for hundreds of diseases that have no cure and often no effective treatments,” said Dr. Levy. “ Being in position to bring that experience, perspective and knowledge to a vital journal will help provide an additional means of bettering peoples’ lives. “
