The School of Directing means learning the fine art of directing.
https://online-theatre-academy.com/school-of-directing

The World Theatre Training Institute AKT-ZENT, research centre of the International Theatre Institute, the World Organization of Performing Arts, offers directors, theatre teachers and actors a unique opportunity to be introduced to the secrets of directing by Dr. Jurij Alschitz, the internationally renowned director and theatre teacher.

The School of Directing is a 4-month intensive programme of the institute's own Online Theatre Academy held in three block seminars with a total of 18 sessions. The international programme is designed in such a way that participants can pursue their normal professional activities. However, they are given extensive tasks between the work phases so that they can develop the knowledge they have acquired into their own methodology and apply it in their own practice.

With the School of Directing, Jurij Alschitz implements the quantum pedagogy he has developed in his practical teaching: it is based on a pedagogy of specific impulses and is built on a holistic theatre concept. The students are the beneficiaries of his latest findings and at the same time actively involved in the ongoing research.

The programme focuses on the methodical preparation of a production, because it is the sovereignty and mastery in dealing with texts, with all the parameters of a production and finally with the actors that makes one's own talent blossom. Directing is taught here in its comprehensive meaning - as a world view, as an art, as a craft and as a tool.

The School of Directing is still accepting registrations until 1 November.

The World Theatre Training Institute AKT-ZENT is the research institute for theatre training methods of the International Theatre Institute (ITI) / World Organisation for the Performing Arts.
Under the artistic direction of Dr Jurij Alschitz, the institute concentrates on the innovation of theatre training in theory and practice, which is tested in a variety of training and further education programmes. One artistic-methodological focus is on the development of new strategies for the self-education and self-creation of the artistic individual.
Dr Jurij Alschitz also uses the interplay of scientific and humanistic findings to develop new methods and practical exercises for the theatre. This forms the basis for projects such as applied quantum pedagogy for directing and acting training.
An Online Theatre Academy has been affiliated with the institute since 2020.
