About the Author
Larry B. Stell's poetic journey is rooted in his rich and diverse life experiences. Born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, Larry's early years from 1932 to 1957 were influenced by his family's entrepreneurial spirit and their ventures across the state. A proud Korean War veteran, Larry served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1954, including on the USS Yorktown.
Larry's teaching career, spanning from 1960 to 2001, took him across the globe, from Arkansas to New Orleans, Libya, North Africa, Germany, Italy, and The Netherlands. With a master's degree from Vanderbilt University and a dedication to education, Larry taught high school and secondary classes on Air Force and Army bases and in the San Diego school districts. His international teaching experiences, especially his time in Germany teaching evening classes at the Volkshochschule, deeply enriched his life and writing.
Returning to the United States in 2001, Larry focused on his writing, channeling his love for life, love, and the soul into his poetry. His rich experiences and enduring connections in Europe, particularly in Bad Kreuznach and Karlsruhe, continue to influence his creative expression. Larry's poetry reflects a lifetime of adventure, cultural immersion, and an appreciation for the world around him.
