Frankie Goes To Hollywood! 10/7/16 to 10/30/16 including Halloween!

Art-In-Relation, the brainchild of Long Beach producers Jonas Sills and Ray Buffer, will revisit Frankenstein – A New Musical. In 2014, the duo presented this production in its West Coast premiere in Long Beach. This October 7 through 30, 2016, they present a professional, re-staged version in Hollywood, CA for its Hollywood/Los Angeles premiere.

In his quest to discover the secret of life, Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant young scientist, creates a human of his own design - a horrifying beast who grows to become articulate, cunning, and thirsting for revenge upon the creator who abandoned him.

A tragic love story and exploration of humanity, Frankenstein, A New Musical breathes new life into the world-renowned story of man and creator pitted against one another in epic battle.

Mary Shelley's horror story is brought to new life itself in this gothic, new musical adaptation. With a haunting and breathtaking score, this innovative take on the classic story is a feast for the eyes and ears. It is a timeless tale of man's quest for knowledge, fear of the unknown, love of family and search for acceptance.

Authors Mark Baron, Jeffrey Jackson, and Gary P. Cohen have sought to create a work that was uniquely faithful to Shelley’s original novel while offering a bold, new experience for modern theatre audiences. The result is a thrilling “mindscape” that brings the timeless myth of Frankenstein to life as never before.

If you had the power to bring the dead to life, would you? Shelley’s cautionary tale underscores that monsters are not born, they are made.

“bringing the classic story thrillingly to life,” -Associated Press

“Riveting!” and “Totally exciting.” -Bloomberg Radio

Art-In-Relation (AIR) is the invention of Co-Executive Producers Jonas Sills and Ray Buffer. AIR takes its acronym name as a nod to the Hindu deity, Vāyu who was known to give life through breath. Sills and Buffer hope to breathe new life into musical theatre productions, concert music, choral presentations, plays as well as creating opportunities to experience healing arts. Their goal is to house all of these ideas under one roof.

Jonas Sills grew up in Manhattan Beach, CA and was a sought after performer even as a young child. He continued to perform in operas, musicals and plays while also working as a soloist for concerts and churches. Currently Sills is a teacher with LBUSD teaching music in elementary schools and is the executive/artistic director and conductor of the Los Angeles Musical Theatre Youth Chorus.

Ray Buffer grew up in West Palm Beach, Florida and migrated to California in 1999. Buffer has had a career of working in musical theatre performance and film as well as arts management. He has served as an Equity stage manager and actor for several productions, worked in marketing and development for The Laguna Playhouse, spent a year as general manager for Long Beach Opera, and ran his own company in San Pedro for four seasons. Buffer has directed and produced a vast number of musical theatre productions as well as produced stand-up comedy events, burlesque shows and film festivals.
