Student exchange in enjoyable atmosphere: In the 6th form to Great Britain

Lohmar, 09.04.2024 - The student exchange organization International EXPERIENCE e. V. offers a special opportunity for students to experience the 6th form in Great Britain. Prerequisite: 16 years and completed 10th grade. Subjects and methods are different from the German sixth form and provide lasting inspiration for participants. You can spend one, two or three terms in the UK at a so-called college, and it is even possible to graduate from school there (after 2 years).

The 6th form in Great Britain offers a wide range of subjects with great freedom in the choice of subjects: In addition to English, there are 30-40 subjects to choose from, including, Business and Entrepreneurship, Journalism, Film, Architecture, Law, Pharmacy, Engineering, Statistics, Psychology or Tourism are possible, 3 or 4 subjects are taken.

For young people interested in medicine, for example, there is an introduction to the most important medical disciplines, from paramedics and nursing to laboratory and cancer diagnostics.

Practical vocational subjects include event technology, building construction, criminology, sports coaching license, sanitation, styling, interior design, drama and dance. This range enables a tailor-made education and often brings out a new school motivation, according to international EXPERIENCE e. V.



Improve your English and get a taste of professional practice

The way of learning and working in the British sixth form emphasizes interaction and collaboration. Teachers at British 6th Form colleges encourage students to share ideas and thereby develop their understanding of content as well as their linguistic and social skills. In particular, exchange students who want to improve their English will find a suitable learning environment there.

Practical work placements and excursions, whether in a law firm or administration, clinic or museum, as well as cooperation with universities, give young people an insight into the world of work. Project days and in-house exhibitions round off the educational program.



British learning atmosphere inspires with equipment and commitment

The schools are known for their modern facilities and the teachers support their pupils in the learning process. Weekly individual tutoring accompanies the learning progress. Contact persons who also look after the needs of exchange students ensure that the young people feel well looked after and integrated. Schools also offer leisure activities in the arts and sports. In their host families, who give them a warm welcome, guest students get to know the culture and receive support in everyday life.



Interested parents and young people are given individual advice on which program is suitable for their time abroad. A lot of information is also provided in online rooms and returnees can be interviewed. On 11.04.24 17.30 the experts will also provide information on other opportunities in the UK, Scotland and Ireland - including for students under 16.
