Rusatom International Network and the University of Indonesia signed a Memorandum of Understanding

Rosatom International Network and the University of Indonesia (Universitas Indonesia) signed a Memorandum of Understanding today during the VII International Forum Atomexpo 2016.

From the Russian side the document was signed by the President of RIN Alexander Merten, the signatory from Indonesia was Muhammad Anis, Rector of the University.

The Memorandum aims at creating necessary conditions for reviving the dialogue in the sphere of nuclear science and education between Russia and Indonesia. The Parties expressed their commitment to develop partnerships between the University of Indonesia and Russian higher education institutions, as well as with R&D and educational institutions of Rosatom State Corporation. Increasing the awareness of the Indonesian population about peaceful nuclear technologies and their potential for the country’s sustainable development is one of the key directions of the cooperation.

Rosatom International Network is a non-commercial organization in the control loop of Rosatom State Corporation, which decides on the creation, development and management of a network of regional centres. The company’s structure consists of 11 regional centres. Searching new possibilities for business expansion, promoting products and services offered by Russian organizations in the nuclear sector and image formation are the main goals of the company and its regional centres. One of the main functions of the company is coordination of foreign economic activity of organizations included in the control pool of Rosatom State Corporation.

University of Indonesia (founded in 1849) is the leading state higher education institution in the Republic of Indonesia. A total of more than 47 thousand students are studying at 13 university faculties.
