EOS SPONSORS ESCAPE AWARDS AT LONDON’S TATE MODERN IN MARCH 2008
EOS Electro Optical Systems sponsors the upcoming Escape Awards. With a ceremony at London’s Tate Modern in March 2008, the awards celebrate computer graphics (CG) talents in the UK. EOS, world leading manufacturer of laser-sintering systems, will support the event as technology partner and thus stresses its commitment to a new market.“With predicted growth rates of 11.4 per cent annually, the global video game market is set to explode in the coming years”, comments Stuart Jackson, Regional Manager for UK and Ireland. “The computer graphics industry is a promising market for additive layer manufacturing technologies such as laser-sintering. There is an increased demand for buildings, furnishings, and surroundings of video games that are going to be fully described as 3D models – this is exactly what our technology can deliver fast and cost-effectively”. Laser-sintering builds products directly from 3D CAD data, fully automatically and without tooling.
The sponsorship of the Escape Awards underlines EOS’s commitment to the CG industry. “More and more designers in the UK start to reap the benefits of our technology”, continues Jackson. “We are looking forward to making more contacts to professional companies and studios at the March event.”
