IT Concepts, Inc. (ITC) is pleased to announce that they have been certified as a participant in the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) 8(a) Business Development Program. This begins a nine year term, initiating on May 04, 2015, allowing ITC to access and utilize valuable resources to enhance our current business plan and strategies for growth.“Receiving certification under the SBA 8(a) Program coupled with our Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) status gives our company the opportunity to expand our business and continue to deliver the highest quality services and solutions to the federal government,” said Pinakin Patel, President & CEO of the firm.
The 8(a) program is a business development program, administered by the SBA, aimed at helping small, disadvantaged business complete in the marketplace. Assistance is offered to firms that are owned and controlled 51% by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. The program helps aspiring entrepreneurs gain a foothold in government contracting through a two-phased approach: a four-year developmental stage and a five-year transition stage. During this time participants can receive sole-source contracts, up to a ceiling of $4 million for goods and services and $6.5 million for manufacturing.
Participating firms also have the ability to form joint ventures and teams to bid on contracts, allowing 8(a) firms to perform larger prime contracts that were previously inaccessible.
