New comic book company gives Opportunity to break into the industry with their ideas

A new comic book company that devotes its development through the means of an online community has begun to start an online viral marketing campaign through the means of YouTube videos and word of mouth advertising. This new comic book company is called “Planet X Fiction.”

The goal of Planet X Fiction is to help new talent that is interested in pursuing a career within the comic book industry the opportunity of showcasing their work to a potentially large online audience. Ideas for brand new stories that have not been proposed to the current comic book market can be expressed through Planet X Fiction’s online community forum.

The creator of Planet X Fiction, Brad Johnson, had these comments regarding the importance of having a community based comic book company: “The appeal of comic books is getting stronger as each day passes. The people who make the best kind of stories are the fans themselves, because they know exactly what they want out of a comic book. It’s so hard for the common comic book fan to make it into the major companies such as Marvel, DC, Dark Horse or Image and there’s always the continuous fear of absolute rejection. With Planet X Fiction, not only do you have an opportunity to share your thoughts and ideas with many other comic book fans, but you have the chance to get noticed online. Planet X Fiction is always looking for new stories and new concepts. Granted, not everything gets approved, but in many ways, this is a good thing as it teaches those who are passionate about getting into the industry to improve their creativity in such a way that it can lead to an eventuality of getting noticed, either through Planet X Fiction or even another major player in the comic book industry.”

Individuals who are willing to share their ideas through Planet X Fiction are encouraged to have their work copyrighted. “That's always a golden rule in this business is for new talent to protect their work with copyright. Even though Planet X Fiction isn’t about stealing ideas or mainstreaming other people’s work without their permission, I always encourage our members to protect their hard work. Planet X Fiction intends on getting noticed within the industry by releasing their first developed comic book project called “Cade’s War.” This science fiction comic book series debuts on December 28th, 2007 which will be made purchasable through Planet X Fiction’s website.
