Ganoune Diop Engages in Eastern Mantra Meditations and

Faith leaders prayed to their different deities through transcendental meditation as the sacred primordial sound "Om" was played during the G20 Interfaith Summit in Pune, India, from September 5-7, 2023. Ganoune Diop, representing the Seventh-day Adventist Church, participated not just in the mantras and meditations but also pushed for peace at the personal, national, and international level. He appealed to the religious faiths to lead in the creation of a new international peace treaty in which the different religions needed to be involved.

Ganoune Diop spoke about the United Nations, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, the eastern religions, reincarnation, nirvana, and other principles that he said were all connected to peace. Diop pushed for human solidarity-one humanity, one family-even as the event organizers played a video with the voice of the so-called "original creator," known as "knowledge divine." This was not the voice of God from the Bible, but the voice of the god of eastern religions, known as enlightenment.

During the ceremony [1], a World Peace Prayer was offered in which Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, and other Hindu deities were called upon. This is pure spiritualism. Ganoune Diop even praised the so-called principles of paganism, reincarnation, and nirvana as he asked people to embrace a closer relationship of peace. This is the embodiment of the modern ecumenical movement. It is a mixture of reverence for every god under the sun. This is the very same universal fraternity that Pope Francis is appealing to all religions to join.

Unfortunately, every religious faith is embracing this ecumenical philosophy. The ecumenical movement is committed to propagating a false religious system that will never lead to salvation and will instead leave people in their errors. Adventists should not waste time or resources on this kind of interfaith idolatry.

Seventh-day Adventists have been engaging in interfaith relationships with different "Christian" churches for the past 60 years. But now it is the work of building bridges, dispelling misconceptions, and finding common ground with Buddha, Brahma, Vishnu, and other deities from eastern religions. Once we opened the door 60 years ago to interfaith cooperation and started making compromises, this path has only brought us further and further away from our mission as a people.

What we are witnessing is spiritualism making its way into Adventism. Ganoune Diop and others are inviting demons to come in and possess them during these eastern meditations. This goes against everything that is contained in the Word of God. This violates the 10 Commandments, the gospel of Jesus Christ, and every biblical doctrine that defines us as Christians. This celebration was well planned. We should know better because this is a prophetic fulfillment of inspiration that is now unfolding before our eyes:

"Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution" (Last Day Events, p. 131).

"When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near" (Testimonies, Vol. 5, p. 451).

We are seeing the "three-fold union" come together. This three-fold union is a collaboration of Roman Catholics, Protestants, and spiritualism. We are supposed to expose this, not participate in it.

"Thus the message of the third angel will be proclaimed. As the time comes for it to be given with greatest power (Latter Rain) the Lord will work through humble instruments, leading the minds of those who consecrate themselves to his service … The fearful results of enforcing the observances of the church by civil authority (Sunday law), the inroads of Spiritualism, the stealthy but rapid progress of the papal power,-all will be unmasked. By these solemn warnings the people will be stirred. Thousands upon thousands will listen who have never heard words like these" (Great Controversy, p. 606).

Let Us Stop Avoiding the Real Issues
As the 2025 General Conference Session convenes, with believers from around the world watching and praying, there is an unmistakable sense of frustration among many of the faithful. While we will be given lectures about returning our tithes and offerings-as outlined in the proposed 2025 Church Manual agenda-we must ask ourselves: is this truly the burning concern on the hearts of God's remnant people at this critical hour in history?
