Gamry Instruments to Co-Sponsor Corrosion Short Course

Gamry Instruments to co-sponsor the 20th Annual Penn State University Corrosion Short Course June 5-10, 2016 at Penn State University Park Campus

Registration is now open for the annual Penn State University Corrosion Short Course being held at Penn State University Park Campus June 5-10th. The course, now in its 20th year, will cover the fundamentals of corrosion and various electrochemical techniques. Lectures and laboratories will be used to illustrate how electrochemical techniques are applied, when they should be used, and how the various techniques can be integrated to solve complex problems.

The course, “Corrosion: Fundamentals and Experimental Methods”, will be useful for people entering the corrosion field and for professionals looking for a refresher course and includes lectures, laboratory demonstration and laboratory practice sessions.

Many of the short course activities will take place at The Atherton Hotel, located just one block from the University Park campus. A limited number of rooms have been set aside for the course dates, so book early and specify that you are with the Corrosion Group when making your room reservations.

Gamry Instruments designs and builds precision electrochemical instrumentation and is a proud co-sponsor of this event. A representative of Gamry will be on hand during the course to answer any questions you may have regarding their potentiostats and use for corrosion research. A Gamry Power Point Presentation “Care and Feeding of Computer-controlled Potentiostats” is available at the Penn State University Engineering Science and Mechanics website.
