Press release from: Gamry Instruments

Registration is open for The Penn State University’s 23rd Annual Corrosion Short Course scheduled for June 2-7, 2019 at the University Park Campus in State College, PA (USA). Gamry Instruments will be a co-sponsor for the course.

Philadelphia, PA, January 24, 2019 – Registration is now open for the annual Penn State University Corrosion Short Course being held at the Penn State University Park Campus June 2-7th. The course, now in its 23rd year, will cover the fundamentals of corrosion and various electrochemical techniques. Lectures and laboratories will be used to illustrate how electrochemical techniques are applied, when they should be used, and how the various techniques can be integrated to solve complex problems.

Instructors for the course include Dr. Barbara Shaw, course director and professor of engineering science and mechanics at The Penn State University. Dr. Shaw has 28 years of experience in the field of corrosion, including 8 years at government and industrial labs.

If you are looking for a Corrosion Refresher Course or just entering the Corrosion Field this course, “Corrosion: Fundamentals and Experimental Methods”, will be useful. Lectures and laboratories will be used to illustrate how electrochemical techniques are applied, when they should be used, and how the various techniques can be integrated to solve complex problems. Many of the short course activities will take place at the new Hyatt Place Hotel, located just one block from the University Park campus. A limited number of rooms have been set aside for the course dates, so book early and specify that you are with the Corrosion Group when making your room reservations to ensure you receive the special rate.

For more information and to register for the Corrosion Short Course, visit the Penn State Engineering Science and Mechanics website, https://sites.esm.psu.edu/wiki/research:bas13:corrosion_short_course. There is also additional information available at http://www.gamry.com/news-and-announcements.

Gamry Instruments designs and builds precision electrochemical instrumentation and is a proud co-sponsor of this event. A representative of Gamry will be on hand during the course to answer any questions you may have regarding their potentiostats and use for corrosion research. A Gamry Power Point Presentation “Care and Feeding of Computer-controlled Potentiostats” will be presented and is available for preview at https://www.gamry.com/news-and-announcements/shows-and-conferences/corrosion-short-course-2019.

Corrosion-resistant Dosing Valve Market -
The global corrosion-resistant dosing valve market is prognosticated to gain support from a high preference over solenoid valves in classic chemical dosing applications. There could be two rational reasons why corrosion-resistant dosing valve is more of a preferred option than solenoid valve. First of all, new products introduced in the market such as GF Piping Systems’ 604/605 dosing valve have a minimal count of metal parts, which make them easy
Corrosion Monitoring Market Opportunities upto 2024
Corrosion is an electrochemical process that transforms metals and alloys into oxides, hydroxides, and aqueous salts. In the corrosion process, there are generally two types of reactions that take place. The first is the anodic reaction, in which reaction metal atoms are ionized and pass into solutions, leaving their electrons in the original metal. In the second process, the cathodic reaction, reduction takes place and metals are degraded by chemical

LUH GmbH now offers a new “FeOMica“- range within their supply portfolio, with excellent technical properties at an extremely
Protective Packaging Announces Corrosion Prevention Services
As the economy has slowed over the last few years, companies have been forced to lay off workers and shut down factories, plants and manufacturing facilities. This has lead to an upsurge in the need for properly securing and preserving costly equipment and machinery while it is dormant. If they don’t take safeguarding precautions now, companies face the expensive task of refurbishing and/or replacing equipment when the time comes to
