Leiber GmbH further invests in R&D

Since February 2016, Leiber GmbH has been reinforced by Dr med vet Claudia Westfahl - a veterinarian specialized in animal nutrition - as part of the company's strategy to invest in new product developments. With the new position ‘Product Development Animal Nutrition’, Dr Westfahl is responsible for new product development in the field of functional feed ingredients for both pet as well as farm animals. After graduating at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover in 2005 she worked as a scientific employee at the Institute for Animal Nutrition.

Starting her industrial career in 2008 as a nutritionist for several brands in the international FMCG sector, she brings in eight years of expertise in commercial diet formulations for pet, fish & reptiles taking advantage from a solid educational background in animal nutrition, dietetics and science of feedstuffs including QM and regulatory knowledge.

For almost 60 years the company Leiber, based in Bramsche, has been one of the leading manufacturers of speciality yeast products "Made in Germany". Using innovative biotechnological processing techniques, the natural raw material brewers' yeast is converted into high-quality products that are then used in the animal nutrition, foodstuffs, food supplements and biotechnology sectors. With two locations in Germany, as well as additional production facilities in Poland and Russia, Leiber's over 200 dedicated staff manufactures brewers' yeast products and yeast extracts of the highest quality.
