Pennsylvania Newspaper: "Blue Laws are Obsolete - but had their

The Times Leader is a daily newspaper in Pennsylvania that published an article on September 21, 2023, titled "Blue Laws are Obsolete-but had their Virtues." The article was basically promoting the opinion that Blue Laws were beneficial and brought a sense of peace, quiet, and well-being to the community. Additionally, it was stated that blue laws allowed people to attend church on Sundays. In other words, the secular media is once again promoting the idea that laws restricting Sunday activities to support religious observances on that day are good for society.

The Times Leader reported:

• "Once upon a time, life was pretty quiet in Pennsylvania on Sundays. This was mostly the result of so-called 'blue laws' that prohibited many different types of activity on Sunday so that people could rest and turn their attention to religious observance." [1]

• "It was only in 1978 that the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled that most blue laws were unenforceable, and in the decades since, Sundays have become more and more like any other day." [1]

• "No question about it, the ability to shop and carry out other types of transactions on a Sunday has certain advantages. But it's hard not to feel that something has been lost when there is not a day in the week where the pace of life slows, we set aside the busyness that characterizes much of our lives, and we focus on our own well-being, or that of our friends or family." [1]

• "Blue laws may be obsolete, in some cases laughably so - no one seriously thinks anyone should be prevented from dribbling a basketball in their driveway on a Sunday anymore, or be stopped from mowing the grass. But those blue laws, and the peace and quiet they enforced, were not without their virtues." [1]

The news media has become the marketing department of Rome because they are essentially helping to disseminate the wine of Babylon. The purpose of the message is to permanently imprint on people's minds that Sunday is a day of rest and worship. Even though the Tribune-Democrat claims that the Blue Laws are obsolete, they are actually planting the seeds for their eventual resurgence. The dragon's spirit will also be revived when Sunday is restored.

"While men are sleeping, Satan is actively arranging matters so that the Lord's people may not have mercy or justice. The Sunday movement is now making its way in darkness. The leaders are concealing the true issue, and many who unite in the movement do not themselves see whither the undercurrent is tending. Its professions are mild and apparently Christian, but when it shall speak it will reveal the spirit of the dragon" (Testimonies, Vol. 5, p. 452).

Let Us Stop Avoiding the Real Issues
As the 2025 General Conference Session convenes, with believers from around the world watching and praying, there is an unmistakable sense of frustration among many of the faithful. While we will be given lectures about returning our tithes and offerings-as outlined in the proposed 2025 Church Manual agenda-we must ask ourselves: is this truly the burning concern on the hearts of God's remnant people at this critical hour in history? The

While walking down the hallway at the America's Center Convention Complex-the site of the 62nd General Conference Session-I saw Ganoune Diop approaching. Rome Stops Traffic On Ecological Sunday
Rome's "Ecological Sundays," which restrict traffic to reduce pollution, may at a first glance appear to be an environmental initiative on the surface, but they serve a deeper agenda-to condition the public to the idea of staying home and resting on Sundays. While rest is not inherently problematic, the issue lies in how this concept is being enforced-not through a voluntary means, but through civil law. By mandating Sunday rest
