bauma 2007: Improved product-group categories makes it easier to find exhibitors

01-16-2006 12:10 PM CET | Industry, Real Estate & Construction

Press release from: Messe München GmbH

When bauma, the leading exhibition for products, technologies and services in the international construction, building-materials and mining-machine industry, opens its gates from April 23 – 29, 2007, it will have new product-group categories. In an effort to better include the sector for mining machines and integrate the latest technical developments into the fair, the organizer (Munich International Trade Fairs) and its partner VDMA (associations for construction and building-materials machinery and mining equipment in the German Engineering Federation) worked with industry representatives to reorganize the entire product index for bauma 2007.

The range of products and services on display at bauma 2007 are oriented to four new categories, i.e. "All around the construction site", "Mining, extraction and processing of raw materials", "Production of building materials" and "Component and service suppliers". The new categories are also intended to make it easier for visitors to find their primary areas of interest.
Reorganizing the fair according to these four product categories means that the separate product index that was developed for bauma mining 2004 is now completely integrated into the bauma index on the one hand, and the existing index for construction and building machinery was updated and adapted to the latest trends in research and technology on the other.

Besides improved orientation, it will also be easier for exhibitors to assign themselves to individual product categories and avoid doubling up on terminology. The product sector for building-materials production was also improved.

About bauma
From April 23 – 29, 2007 the newest products in the international construction-machinery, building-materials machines and mining machinery industry were presented in the halls and at the outdoor site of the New Munich Trade Fair Centre. Munich International Trade Fairs makes some 500,000 square meters of space available for the world's fair bauma.
A total of 2,801 exhibitors from 47 countries used bauma as a presentation and marketing platform in the year 2004. The share of international exhibitors increased by 26 percent compared to 2001. More than 416,000 visitors from Germany and other countries came to bauma 2004 in Munich, and 29 percent of them were from abroad. The exhibiting companies confirmed bauma's significance as an international industry gathering. 93 percent of the exhibitors reported having foreign visitors at their stands during bauma 2004.
