From 23rd November on Zell am See-Kaprun starts winter with pop music made in Austria
Actually, Wolfgang Ambos is a welcome guest wherever he goes. But it is for many years now that the singer and songwriter has established a very special relationship with Zell am See-Kaprun. He definitely feels at home on the stages in the heart of Pinzgau! And on 24th November he is finally giving another concert. The reason for this visit: the winter season is making its entrance on the local mountains of Kitzsteinhorn and Schmittenhöhe. And since it takes more than fluffy powder snow to make a banging start into the season, Wolfgang Ambros is glad to provide the musical back-up.Ambros' performance at time-honoured Kaprun Castle will definitely be a highlight for skiers and snowboarders who would like to enjoy party vibes with songs like 'Da Hofa' and the notorious 'Schifoan' after a long day on the piste. For this reason, the answer came promptly when the question about a name for this party weekend from 23rd to 25th November was raised - 'Schifoan & Wolfgang Ambros', of course. As a follow-up event to the official winter opening the previous week, this second party weekend will already kick off on Friday evening with the huge 'Austro-Pop Night' at the Baumbar in Kaprun.
Saturday and Sunday will definitely be marked by enjoying pristine white snow on the slopes and partying until dawn. If you are still lacking the adequate equipment to take a test round on the perfectly prepared pistes, then just drop in at one of the many ski hire shops. All set with the right boards, skiers are free to choose from blue, red and black pistes. Boarders and freestylers meet at the new 'Roxy Glacier Park' on Kitzsteinhorn. The rails, jumps and boxes there make sure that only the sky is the limit for winter sports enthusiasts who try daredevil stunts.
And how about swishing down the slopes of Schmittenhöhe? The local mountain of Zell am See charms our visitors and has convinced the staff of the ADAC, Europe's largest automobile club, who tested European skiing regions: it was awarded first prize among the booming regions in 2008. If you decide to visit 'Schifoan & Wolfgang Ambros', you are in for everything you can wish for in an exciting winter weekend!

It is general practice among the visitors of a 'barcamp' to take home a sticker once the 'unconference' has finished. That way, the participants want to say, 'I was in on that.' The idea is not really new. For decades, travellers have collected that kind of souvenirs of their holiday destinations and stuck them to their suitcases. It's the 'barcamps' themselves that are new. They have only been organized for…

Anyone who has ever been in the audience of a large conference, congress, or seminar, maybe even for several days in a row, knows that phenomenon only too well: there are set schedules to be followed, hours of talks and lots of useless information to be listened to.
