THE WORKS OF SIX EMERGING ARTISTS WILL BE SHOWN IN RESIDENTIAL SALES GALLERY AND FIVE TOWER SUITES

New York, NY – The Raandesk Gallery’s “Art & Living” exhibition will enable visitors to experience pieces in a home—if not their home. “Art & Living” will take the works of six artists out of the gallery and into five newly renovated, custom-furnished tower suites. Artwork will include photographs by Jennie Barrese and Laura Salierno, polaroids on canvas by Matt Kern, paintings by Jason Bryant, Kellyann Monaghan, and Jeff Leonard.

Opening Reception: Thursday, November 15 from 6:00-9:00 pm
Exhibition Dates: November 15 – January 12
(Open to the public Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. or by appointment)

Greenwich Club Residencies (Enter through sales gallery)
88 Greenwich Street (at Rector Street) / New York, NY

Abstraction and realism unite these six artists under the bonds of architecture. Abstract digital photography by Jennie Baresse presents sinuous designs and flowing colors, while Laura Salierno’s photographs from the Plaza Hotel series depict the reality but evocative remnants of the abandoned hotel rooms of New York's legendary Plaza Hotel. Matt Kern's original photographic collages utilize polaroids applied to canvases, which are manipulated by etching and painting the surfaces creating a single unified work of art. Realist painter, Jason Bryant, explores perception through his large scale cropped portraits of celebrity faces, flowing material and movie stills. New York cityscapes and interiors balance abstraction and realism with the exaggerated architectural and light features exhibited in Kellyann Monaghan’s paintings. Paintings in oil and resin on wood
by Jeffrey Leonard round out the show with geometrical designs and smooth surfaces.

Megan Reed + Jennie Ottinger | Rabble-Rousers | May 27
In Rabble-Rousers, Megan Reed’s marching sculptures, watched by the disconcertingly unwholesome crowds in Jennie Ottinger’s paintings, together activate the gallery space into a kind of parade ground for resistance, rebellion, and/or collective merry-making. Through loud, chromatic palettes and vivid textures, both Reed and Ottinger create work that is tactile, vocal and slyly humorous. The viewer is invariably drawn into the rabble-rousing, tangled up into its web of discourse; urged to join
