Job-oriented intake of cutting tools with PDAs (PocketPCs)

Job-oriented intake of cutting tools with PDAs (PocketPCs)

Durlangen, Sept. 26, 2007 The software producer EVO Informationssysteme GmbH has developed a practical and economic solution for sourcing, warehouse stock keep-ing and intake of cutting tools for metal processing companies.

Especially in the serial production in the automobile and electronics industries the ob-servation of total tool costs are substantially important. In this case a new integrated data analysis makes it possible to inspect the tool costs per workpiece (cost-per-part).

Via PC systems or industrial PDAs (Pocket-PCs) tool consumption can easily be gath-ered per job. The input complexity of tool intake can be reduced dramatically by bar code labels on lists and production orders.

The integrated stock control of tools and consumable material as well as the logging of all goods movements avoids production delays by missing tools. This accelerates the information flow between production and management.

Furthermore the software producer announces that a single-user-version of their tool management software named “EVOtools basic” will be offered in January 2008.
