Job-oriented Booking of Material and Products with PDAs (PocketPCs)

Durlangen, Sept. 7, 2007. The German software producer EVO Informationssysteme GmbH has extended the features of data acquisition in production by using PocketPCs (PDAs). The recent module enables the user to book the job-oriented raw materials, single parts or components by wireless LAN (Wifi).
This module extension allows for the project or job-oriented booking of material and products with barcode scanners in the production or assembly. The booking data will be transmitted to the server by wireless technology (Wifi) without time delay and checked for plausibility at the same time. By that, booking errors and the resulting shortage will be avoided efficiently.
Furthermore the PocketPCs allow for flexible and location-independent logging of material withdrawals for projects and orders. This accelerates the information flow between production and management. At the same time the collected booking data will be used for the order calculation and assures a permanent control of the costs.
The efficiency and cost transparency in the production can be enhanced sustainedly with less capital expenditure.
