Family and career - how does that work? That's what mothers and fathers ask themselves! And how can I create good conditions for this in my team or company? Many executives and top managers ask themselves this question. The need for a better compatibility of work and family and a work-life balance is becoming more and more important in society and companies. The understanding of work and career is changing, more and more organizations are establishing new-work models, corporate cultures are becoming more agile and adaptable.
But how is it possible in everyday life to do justice to the role of parent and at the same time take responsibility for a team or company and reconcile career opportunities? And what do companies and managers need to create the right conditions so that family and career are not contradictions?
Roman Gaida, manager and father of twins, was also faced with these questions. In September 2022, he published his personal experiences and tips in his book "Working Dad: Balancing Active Fatherhood and Career" ("Working Dad: Vereinbarkeit von aktiver Vaterrolle und Karriere leben"). This book attracted a great deal of attention in the executive levels of national and international companies as well as among many working fathers and mothers. At the same time, Roman Gaida published the e-book "Digital Transformation is 10% Tech and 90% Human", which was also published as a chapter in the English-language handbook "Digital Competence and Future Skills - how companies prepare themselves for the digital future" by editor Dr Philipp V. Ramin in the summer of 2022 by Hanser Verlag. And indeed, work-life balance in the digital transformation is also an important part of today's and tomorrow's work culture.
