#EARTHDAY partnered 19.13 Hrs World Recorded IGEN ENERGATHON 2023 - Created a new world record for the longest conference on SDG7 Affordable and Clean Energy towards Sustainability
The conference executed for 19.13 hours, on 27TH MAY 2023 with 110 speakers - 55 Presenters - 15 thousand Participants across the globe. This marathon was organised by The Institution of Green Engineers, Earth Day Global, Energy Swaraj Foundations, Smiles4millions, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam International Foundation, and Dr M.G.R Educational & Research Institute

The IGEN ENERGATHON 2023 Conference, a prestigious event in the field of energy and sustainability, commenced with an exciting schedule of sessions and activities. The conference brought together experts, researchers, industry leaders, and students to discuss and explore various aspects of clean and renewable energy.The highly anticipated IGEN ENERGATHON Conference, focused on clean and sustainable energy solutions, concluded successfully, leaving participants inspired and equipped with valuable insights. The conference, held in Indian Standard Time (IST), featured a diverse range of sessions and activities that fostered meaningful discussions and collaborations.

In the early morning of 27th May 2023,6:45AM, Dr L. Ramesh, President of IGEN, welcomed all the participants to the IGEN ENERGATHON 2023. It began with a summary presentation of the tracking SDG7 the Energy Progress Report 2022. It continued with the green morning dialogs with Prof Niladri Chakraborty, Professor Jadavpur University about the energy research travel and his recommendations on SDG7. The dialogs started with the Research Experience on Affordable and Clean Energy by the Prof N Chakraborty. He presented his contribution on energy research and express his team outcome on power management research and how it supported #SDG7.

The conference continued with a thought-provoking panel discussion on the role of battery energy storage systems organized by Mr.S Selvakumar, Power projects., followed by an engaging debate among school students on the topic of sustainable energy conducted by Dr. Ishrat Meera Mirzana and Dr. Kavitha.The session of debate concluded with some unconventional sustainable energy technology examples

The event proceeded with the inauguration ceremony, Er.Hudson Egbert-General Secretary IGEN welcomed the gathering, Dr.l .Ramesh- president IGEN started with SDG-7 affordable and clean energy opening remarks , Dr. R. Zahira-organizing secretary briefed about IGEN Energathon 2023, inagural video is played. Er.D.Gokul and Dr.J.Balamurugan, Director IGEN AND Dr.M.Beno-Vice President IGEN Introduced the chief guests.Then the session was graced by esteemed Chief Guests and Keynote Speakers, Padma Bhushan & Padma Shri Dr. A SivathanuPillai ,Padma Shri Dr. John Pucadyil and Padmashri R.M.Vasagam . The conference then featured a visionary talk by Mr. K. Siddhartha, a strategic thinker, who shared valuable insights into the future of sustainable energy.

One of the noteworthy sessions was the Decarbonization Power Sector Conclave, led by Dr. Senthil Kumar. The conclave provided a platform for experts and stakeholders to discuss strategies and solutions for decarbonizing the power sector.The speakers are from Central Power Utility Expert from SRLDC, Grid-India, State Power Utility expert from KSEBL, Academic from Anna University, Chennai and Global Power Experts from Hild Electric Pvt.Ltd., are participated the event and present the past, present and future power growth condition in India and global situation.

Another highlight was the Fun and Learn SDG with 7 ENSAV Clubs session, organized by Amb. Dr. S. Madankumar. The session engaged participants in interactive activities related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the following institutions, Dr. MGR Educational & Research Institute - Live Show , K.Ramakrishna Coll of Engineering Trichy.- News Reading ,Puppetshow , KPR Institute of Engineering College - SDG Charades , JCT College of Engineering and Technology - Live NeeyaNaana Show , Kalaignar Karunanidhi Institute Of Tech- Video Showcase of SDG and Kingston College of Engineering - SDG Mime Show.

It continued with the session on energy sustainability in space communities, emerging technologies for clean and affordable energy, and technology innovation for sustainable development.Eminent moderators Prof. Dr. R. Vigna Kumaran ,Mr. Ashish Kumar and Ms Rania executed the session and concluded with suitable recommendations to UN.

It continued with the session moderated by Dr R. Zahira and Dr. D. Lakshmi, by the organizing institutions on the topic "Presentation on UN Energy Reports". The session engaged participants in interactive activities related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the following institutions Dr. F. Fareeza, Dr.M. G. R. Educational and Research Institute, Chennai on World energy transitions outlook 2022. , Dr. Jennathu Beevi, B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai on Renewable energy and jobs annual review 2022(IRENA), Dr.T. ANURADHA, KCG College of Technology, Chennai on Global green skills report 2022, Dr.D.Lakshmi, AMET deemed to be university Chennai on Understanding green innovation- A conceptual framework , Ms. Priyadarshini, JCT College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore on the UN Report Greening Enterprises Transforming Processes and workplaces, Dr.S.Ravindran, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore on Climate change, Dr. Manish Varma, Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies Udaipur Rajasthan, on Green Jobs
Furthermore, the conference provided a platform for student competitions, including the SDG7 Summit and Energy Effic Innovation, promoting youth engagement and innovation in the energy sector.The SDG7 Global Research Analytics Conclave, led by Dr. S. Radha Rammohan, focused on research insights and analytics to support sustainable development. Another session on clean transport moderated by kamala kannan and coordinated by Dr Sujatha.

It continued with the session moderated by Dr Anuratha, on the presentations of SDG7 Best Practice by the academic institutions. The session engaged participants in interactive activities related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the following institutions, Energy Club,B.S.Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology, Dept of Electrical and Electronics Engineering,Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology, CoE in Renewable Energy,Dept. of Electrical and Electronics Engineering,KCG College of Technology, SXCCE G9 EnSav Club, St.Xavier's Catholic College of Engineering, Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies, CMRIT Incubation Centre, CMR Institute of Technology, EnSav Club, Sri Sai Ram Engineering College, Institute of Power Engineering (IPE), Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), Department of Mechanical Engineering,JCT College of Engineering and Technology

The conference's diverse agenda extended to global partnerships, as exemplified by the LMGlobal Panel discussing the potentials of renewable energy in Türkiye, eco-architecture, and global collaborations. Bircan Unver moderated and shared valuable perspectives during this session.The S4M - SDG Global Partners Conclave, spearheaded by Deepak, emphasized the significance of global partnerships in achieving the SDGs.

The Energy and Climate Dialogues, featuring Mr. Mian Zain, provided a platform for experts and stakeholders to discuss the intersection of energy and climate challenges.The conference also delved into the role of big data, AI, and 5G in energy optimization through a captivating back-to-back talk.

The event concluded with a valedictory session, where the IGEN team and partners expressed gratitude to all participants and highlighted the achievements and outcomes of the conference.

The IGEN Energathon Conference proved to be an exceptional gathering of industry experts, researchers, students, and stakeholders, showcasing the commitment and determination to drive sustainable energy solutions forward. The conference's success can be attributed to the valuable contributions of all participants, session heads, and organizing team members.
