The DIGITUS® USB-LAN aluminum enclosure for 3.5’’ IDE hard disks is captivating in its smart design and high performance. It makes data from IDE hard disks available in networks.

The ideal, cost-effective and mobile “stand alone” solution for company networks and private users, allows easy storage, exchange and securing of data in the entire network.

The data can be made available either via the integrated Samba-Server in the network environment of the Windows-PCs (98 SE/Me/2000/XP/Vista), Mac-PCs (from OS 10.3 onwards) or Linux computers with an installed Samba client or via FTP.

Depending on the integration in the network, data transfer rates of 10/100 Mbps upon connecting via the RJ45 port or 480 Mbps with a local connection via the USB 2.0 port are possible. The internal connection of the hard disk is made via an Ultra ATA 133 IDE interface.

The server administration is completely browser-based and does not need any additional driver software. The installation and setup via the Web interface are problem-free even for the untrained user. The operating systems WIN 98SE / 2000 / ME / XP / Vista / MAC OS X and Linux are supported.

Beside the supported protocols TCP/IP (Net BIOS Name Server), Microsoft Networks (CIFS/SMB), HTTP1.0 and HTML2.0, DHCP Server / Client (automatic detection), SNTP Client and Telnet Server, the DIGITUS® hard disk enclosure also provides the SAMBA Server and FTP Server functions.
