Berlin, 13 November 2014 – As of immediately, airberlin puts its trust in the email and omnichannel marketing platform optivo® broadmail. Besides ensuring dispatches throughout German-speaking Europe, the international cooperation will also involve dispatching in countries that include Poland, Netherlands, UK, France, Italy and the USA. To begin, the entire look & feel of email communication was revamped for receipt on both stationary and mobile devices. At the same time, it is now possible to provide significantly more individualised communication to recipients. To enable highly personalised offers and information to be generated,
airberlin also uses Post-Click Tracking from optivo® broadmail.

airberlin is among Europe’s leading airlines. It connects 171 international destinations and is the carrier of choice for more than 31.5 million passengers when booking flights. In future, optivo® broadmail will be deployed for all customer communication via email. Goal of this cooperation is to embark on the next step towards greater individualisation and professionalization of the firm’s email communication. It will kick off with the dispatch of newsletters in 17 markets and in 12 language versions.

The international email communication will be undertaken using templates specially created for airberlin. As such, the airline ensures the look & feel of all content remains in perfect harmony with its corporate design. Thanks to the high performance optivo® broadmail Content Management System, airberlin can simply upload suitable images for each new newsletter and enter text via copy & paste. Positioning of the various elements is conducted by the system itself, thereby reliably ensuring consistent depictions at all times. In addition, with the “Mobile Fusion” module, the display of all content is automatically adjusted to suit the characteristics of various smartphone and tablet screens. And the “Mobile Preview” function allows the look & feel on all common mobile devices to be checked prior to dispatch.

airberlin simultaneously benefits from the numerous individualisation options provided by optivo® broadmail. The perfectly aligned addressing of recipients is the result of real-time analyses and the selection of target groups that have been meticulously defined. Here, the “Post-Click Tracking” functionality comes into play. It not only allows activity such as newsletter opening and clicks to be recorded, but also lets transaction and sales information from the website to be drawn upon. This information is used by airberlin, for example, to help align the information in its emails to the best departure and destination airports for each individual customer, as well as for useful extra services.
Furthermore, optivo and airberlin have jointly developed a data concept for effective subscribe/unsubscribe processes via email. The exchange of data with the airberlin web pages occurs in real time via the optivo® broadmail HTTP/SOAP interface. A further highlight is incorporation of the new Salesforce interface of optivo® broadmail. airberlin also plans to extend the cooperation with optivo in the areas of marketing automation and transactional emails.
