Press release from: SensoTech GmbH

The LiquiSonic® analyzer of SensoTech measures inline the concentration of ingredients in the beverage and liquid food production.

The LiquiSonic® analyzer of SensoTech measures inline the concentration of ingredients in the beverage and liquid food production.

The several processes of beverage production can be significantly optimized by using inline analytical measuring technology. For example, to improve evaporations, phase separations, blendings or fillings, the concentrations in beer and wine, mixed and soft drinks, juices and liquid dairy products can be monitored.

In the fruit juice and soft drink production usually the Brix content will be analyzed, whereas in dairies the whey or dry matter content is important. In wine making, quality parameters are the extract or alcohol concentration. For the production of instant or liquid coffee the focus is on the concentration of extract and dry matter. In breweries, the inline analyzer measures the content of original gravity (Plato), extract or alcohol. The sensors are directly integrated into the brewing process by mounting the sensors into the pipelines of the lauter tun, wort cooler, filter or filler. A bypass is not necessary. At the wort boiler a long sensor will be installed directly into the vessel.

The LiquiSonic® analyzers of SensoTech measure the various concentrations with high precision, continuously and in real time. The measuring results proved an accuracy of ±0.05 % and will be updated every second. If the results are outside of the defined production range, a signal will be sent immediately to initiate timely countermeasures. This ensures not only a high beverage quality and process reliability, but also avoids costs caused by failed batches. In addition, the inline beverage analyzer enables an efficient control of the raw material and energy consumption. For automated control, the measuring results can be transferred to the process control system via analog or digital outputs, via fieldbus such as Profibus DP or via Ethernet.

A LiquiSonic® analyzer consists of one or more sensors and one controller. The sensors meet the high hygienic requirements of the beverage and food industry and are easy to integrate into any plant system. To determine the concentration, sonic velocity is used as physical value. This measuring method provides extremely fast, accurate and stable results. Due to the robustness and insensitivity to contamination the analyzer is maintenance-free and long-term operating.

The controller displays the measuring results and shows clear trend views. The results can be analyzed with the controller or by network integration directly with the PC. Secure remote control options make an access to the device from different locations and computers possible. This ensures maximum flexibility and online information about the process status.

Since over 20 years SensoTech has been focused on the development, manufacturing and sales of inline analysis systems for process liquids. With worldwide installed, highly precise and innovative measuring systems for monitoring of concentrations, compositions and changes of chemicals as well as properties directly in the process, SensoTech has significantly contributed to the enhancement of the state of the art. In addition to the measurement of concentration and density, the phase interface detection as well as the monitoring of chemical reactions like polymerization and crystallization are typical applications. SensoTech inline analyzers set standards in the technological and qualitative valence, user friendliness and reproducibility of process values. Special calculation methods and sophisticated sensor technologies enable reliable and precise measuring results even under the most difficult process conditions.
The knowledge and the experiences of the highly motivated and committed SensoTech staff are the result of many different applications supported by well-known customers from the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, food technology, semiconductor technology, automobile and metal industry as well as many other industries. In addition, these experiences also open up unimagined solution possibilities for new measuring challenges.
