In order to realize an excellent quality at low costs and short lead times, production processes should be monitored in the food industry in terms of preventive quality management. In the production of beverages and liquid food, for example, the correct concentration of ingredients matters. If the concentration is not kept, a false taste of the product and an inefficient use of resources will follow. As a solution SensoTech offers the inline analyzer LiquiSonic®. Directly integrated into the process, the measuring system continuously analyzes the °Plato, °Brix or dry matter content, for example. So not only the product quality is monitored in the running the production process, but also the process can be resource-efficiently controlled. Faulty batches not appear and costs for energy and raw materials decrease. The measuring technology has proven in various fields such as breweries, dairies, juice and soft drink production and wine making.

Based on the sonic velocity measurement, the LiquiSonic® sensors determine the concentration in liquids and provides highly accurate, stable and in seconds updated measuring values. The sensors are completely made of stainless steel DIN 1.4404 and some sensor types are even available with 3-A-certification. The aseptic sensor design and the sophisticated construction make the sensors especially robust against deposits and drift. Therefore, a maintenance-free and long-term stable operation is ensured. The installation directly into the pipe or vessel requires neither a bypass nor conversions. As process connections various options are available, in which Varivent, Clamp or dairy flange are prefered in the food industry. If heavy vibrations or high temperatures appear in the pipe surrounding area the electronic housing can be mounted away from the sensor. The LiquiSonic® controller displays and manages the measuring data. For an automatic control the data can be transmitted to the process control system, for example via Profibus DP.

With worldwide in-stalled, highly precise and innovative measuring systems for monitoring of concentra-tions, compositions and changes of chemicals as well as properties directly in the process, SensoTech has significantly contributed to the enhancement of the state of the art. In addition to the measurement of concentration and density, the phase inter-face detection as well as the monitoring of chemical reactions like polymerization and crystallization are typical applications.
