The New ADRA and Hope Channel Clowns, "Where Jokes and Laughter

The Seventh-day Adventist faith was established by Christ, not a bunch of clowns. But it now seems that Bozo the Clown has been given the task of carrying out the mission of Jesus Christ in the world. Today, we now have ADRA and Hope Channel clowns whose job is to act like fools, literally. These comedians are constantly making jokes and acting like buffoons wherever they go. They are called "Doctors of Hope," but they have no medical training. They have actually taken special training on how to act like clowns. The costumes and distinct clown makeup come complete with an ADRA patch on one arm and a Hope Channel patch on the other.

In video footage that was published by the Doctors of Hope, you can see how the ADRA and Hope Channel clowns behave. They act and speak as though they have mental disabilities while making jokes about women's intimate apparel. Additionally, you'll witness the music and dancing they perform in the hospitals. Nothing spiritual or sacred is happening here; all that is going on is the same godless entertainment found in our world's party scenes.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church's international humanitarian organization, Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), describes the Doctors of Hope ministry on their website as follows: "The group was formed five years ago in Volta Redonda by volunteers, men and women, who undergo training within a training, acting and clowning course."

The official news source of the South American Division of Seventh-day Adventists explained how the Doctors of Hope ministry works: "Doctors of Hope is part of the official projects of ADRA Brasil, the Humanitarian Agency of the Seventh-day Adventist Church ... The idea for the project was born from the film Patch Adams, which shows a doctor who uses clowning as a form of therapy for his patients ... where jokes and laughter work hand in hand with prayer and music."

Clown therapy? Jokes, laughter, prayer, and music? This kind of ministry would go well with a circus or the local carnival, but not for the solemn mission of Jesus Christ. But everything is changing. Will we soon have clown preachers and pastors? Will we also open up circus churches? Many churches, in their efforts to appear relevant in today's culture, have blended their ministry services with a cool, carnival atmosphere and worldly entertainment. We become void of God's Spirit and truth when we turn to comedians and clowns to entertain people. Christ established a church, not a clown show.

"A spirit of frivolity may be in keeping with the profession of clowns and theatrical actors, but it is altogether beneath the dignity of a man who is chosen to stand between the living and the dead, and to be mouthpiece for God" (Testimonies, Vol. 4, p. 320).

"But let no one think that God will approve of a method which will require a man to act the part of a clown, or like a man who has lost his senses. Such methods as these are wholly unnecessary and inappropriate" (Signs of the Times, March 19, 1894).

Let Us Stop Avoiding the Real Issues
Let Us Stop Avoiding the Real Issues
As the 2025 General Conference Session convenes, with believers from around the world watching and praying, there is an unmistakable sense of frustration among many of the faithful. While we will be given lectures about returning our tithes and offerings-as outlined in the proposed 2025 Church Manual agenda-we must ask ourselves: is this truly the burning concern on the hearts of God's remnant people at this critical hour in history? The

While walking down the hallway at the America's Center Convention Complex-the site of the 62nd General Conference Session-I saw Ganoune Diop approaching. Knowing how busy church leaders are during these sessions, I asked if he had time to answer just one question. He stopped to look at me, and I asked him directly, "Why don't you preach the Three Angels' Messages? Why do you only preach Jesus?" As he began

As the day began, it was clear that the opening session would be marked by intense debate and contention. Everyone who attended the morning press conference orientation was informed that three agendas were going to be approved on this day: the Church Manual agenda, the Constitutional agenda, and the General agenda. The main issue centered on the General agenda, which allows for multiple items to be introduced. It was during

Housing Industry Full Of Hope
Monthly volume has been declining for over a year now; it is already touching a nearly 31-month low, thanks to hardening interest rates and unaffordable property prices. Correction is expected in the industry, but there is another perspective to it. No increase in property prices is also a correction. The property rates have been rising but it is not corresponding to the increasing inflation rate, which is a good sign.
Hope for the indigenous Amazon tribes
The indigenous people left on our planet hold an ancestral link to the history of what was before the development of cities like Rio and Sao Paulo. Their customs have stayed with them throughout the years and today they continue to live peacefully within the Amazon. I’ve always been intrigued by their way of life; the language, their day to day routine, what they do for leisure? But their treatment lately
