Press release from: UMS United Medical Systems International AG

- Exchange-rate-adjusted revenues and earnings stable
- Forecast confirmed
- Dividend policy unchanged

Hamburg, August 14, 2014 - UMS United Medical Systems International AG (UMS/ ISIN DE0005493654) has published its figures for the first half of 2014. After an initially subdued start, business has revived, with revenues and earnings at the previous year's level when adjusted for the negative effects of the weak U.S. dollar. As a result, UMS is confirming its full-year forecast for 2014: Assuming stable exchange rates, the Company projects earnings per share of 50 to 55 cents (2013: 52 cents) with consolidated sales of EUR39 to 42 million (2013: EUR39.8 million). That being the case, UMS intends to maintain its shareholder-friendly dividend policy.
Consolidated sales under IFRS were EUR19.4 million in the first half of 2014, following EUR20.1 million in the same period last year. This slight decline was exclusively attributable to the effects of the U.S. dollar, which was significantly weaker than in the prior-year period. At EUR4.9 million, net income was down somewhat from the previous year (EUR5.0 million), also solely due to exchange rate effects. UMS's earnings per share (EPS) came to 24 cents in the first half of 2014 following 24 cents in the same period last year.

"In the second quarter of 2014, we made additional progress on several major projects that are already benefiting us and will continue to benefit us in the second half," said Jorgen Madsen, CEO of UMS AG. "Therefore, we are optimistic about the second half of the year and are confirming our forecast for the full fiscal year. Our shareholders can expect another large dividend for fiscal 2014."

The complete report for the first half of 2014 is available in German and English on UMS AG's website at www.umsag.com.
