Press release from: FDM Group

The UK’s leading IT graduate employer, FDM Group, has honoured its first graduate from the FDM MSc Programme at the Brighton Dome.

The graduation ceremony, held on 28th July, saw FDM Trainer Kevin Wright accept his Master’s in Applied Computer Science from University of Brighton. FDM fully-funded the course, which he studied via distance learning alongside his day job with the company.

Developed in partnership with University of Brighton, the firm’s MSc Programme provides selected FDM Trainers and Consultants specialising in Software Development with the exclusive opportunity to complete an MSc in Applied Computer Science.

The Chancellor of University of Brighton introduced the occasion and the Head of Faculty of Science presented the award. Upon completion, Wright confirmed he would “definitely recommend it to anyone who would consider it”.

Leader of the MSc Programme, Jonathan Withnall said, “It is excellent to see the success of FDM’s first MSc graduate. Studying a Master’s alongside work is a fantastic achievement and I look forward future celebrations with those due to graduate later this year.”

After the ceremony, FDM CEO Rod Flavell reflected, “I am delighted that our partnership with University of Brighton has enabled our Consultants and Trainers to continue further education. The MSc Programme is a unique opportunity for graduates and ex-Forces personnel to become experts in the field of Software Development whilst simultaneously starting their career.”

FDM’s MSc Programme, launched in 2011, is fully funded by FDM and is completed through distance learning over three years. The course provides those with exceptional aptitude for computer science with a Master’s in Applied Computer Science in tandem with professional and technical training and commercial experience; a vital combination to boost employability.

The programme provides professional IT and business training in a number of disciplines, including Development, Testing and Project Management.
