SMEs from North, East & West Felicitated at Regional Awards Ceremony of IndiaMART-ET NOW Leaders of Tomorrow 2013

New Delhi, December 13, 2013: The passion and the stature of the biggest SME Awards - ET NOW-IndiaMART Leaders of Tomorrow touched a new high with the launch of Regional Awards Ceremony in the 4th edition. The Regional Awards were launched in four zones – North, East, South & West, with the aim to spread the reach of Leaders of Tomorrow to the far corners of the country. This successfully translated into a massive 1 lakh nominations received from across the Small & Medium Enterprise (SME) space. Bestowing recognition to the SMEs present in North, East and West regions, the awards ceremony successfully concluded in Mumbai on December 04, 2013 (West region) and New Delhi (North & East regions) on December 9, 2013.
The business leaders at the event interacted with the Chief Guests Mr. B.S. Nagesh, Vice Chairman, Shoppers Stop in Mumbai and Mr. Shivinder Mohan Singh, Vice Chairman, Fortis Healthcare in New Delhi and drew inspiration from their words of wisdom.
On the on-going Regional Awards Ceremony, Mr. Dinesh Agarwal, Founder & CEO, IndiaMART.com, said, “We began with 15000 nominations in the launch year and today, we have been able to garner over 1 lakh nominations. With such an inspiring beginning we were bound to succeed. The success of Regional Awards in North, East and West zones proved that our decision to take Leaders of Tomorrow to the SMEs and spreading its reach was the right one. We look forward to the run up to the finals. It will be a tough call to take for the Jury members as the competition has been pushed up a notch with finest SMEs vying for the honour."
The recently concluded felicitation ceremonies had its fair share of surprises as woman power seemed at its best. Creating history with a hat trick, Ms. Kavita Jaisinghani (Sai Datta Vikas Herbal) won three Awards in the West region - 'SME of the Year', Woman Entrepreneur and FMCG Consumable Durables. At the Regional Awards Ceremony held in New Delhi (North & East regions) Ms. Ritu Sachdeva (Siddharth Petro Products), besides winning the Woman Entrepreneur Award, also clinched the Award in Chemical & Petrochemicals category while the 'SME of the Year' Award went to Mr. Tushar Jain (Automat Irrigation Pvt Ltd) alongwith the win in Engineering Products category. The SMEs were felicitated in 14 categories in each region.
The success witnessed in North, East and West regions has raised the bar for next and last Regional Awards ceremony of this edition which will be held in Bengaluru this evening. The Chief Guest at the event will be Mr. Krishnakumar Natarajan, Co-Founder, CEO & MD, Mindtree Ltd. and Chairman NASSCOM.
The regional winners will now vie for the biggest honour in the SME space and a last round of Jury will be held to ascertain the best amongst the rest on December 20, 2013. The battle to win the most coveted business Award has just become more intense.
