The different connection variants of the directly mountable pressure sensor module AMS 2710

The different connection variants of the directly mountable pressure sensor module AMS 2710

For pressure measurement in devices with integrated SPS/PLC or other modular control, traditional encapsulated transmitters are often too expensive and too large. OEM sensors for soldering are inexpensive, but in addition to their own circuit board, they require various electronic components for adjusting the input and output voltage levels and protection against polarity reversal and short-circuiting. Small, inexpensive pressure sensor modules such as the AMS 2710 with 12..36 V input and 0..10 V output voltage are used in such devices, for example exhaust systems and air filters.

The AMS 2710 series are ready-to-install industrial pressure sensors, which are mounted on a printed circuit board and can be easily installed in a housing without additional components, so-called pressure sensor modules. They are available for absolute, relative and differential pressure measurement in a wide pressure range from 5 mbar up to 2 bar. The modules are also available as bidirectional differential versions (for negative and positive pressure measurement).

These extended pressure sensors have a 0..10 V voltage output at 12..36 V supply. Due to their ro-bust, reverse polarity protected signal output and current limiting, they are thus predestined for industrial environments. Due to the different connection configurations, the AMS 2710 can be connected via solder contacts, a plug or a cable terminal strip. The PCB sensor modules are individually calibrated and compensated and achieve a total accuracy of 0.5 %FS in the entire temperature range (-25..85 °C) and in the pressure range > 200 mbar.

In terms of their functionality, the new PCB pressure sensor modules stand between OEM sensors, which have to be soldered onto PCBs with additional components, and ready-to-install, housed pressure transmitters. In addition to the simple connection to existing controllers, the modules can also be used to very easily manufacture individual transmitters with their own housing.
Further variants are the AMS 2711 with 0..5 V voltage output and the AMS 2712 with 4..20 mA current output. Customized pressure ranges (up to 10 bar) and other modifications are available on request.

New ultrasonic air bubble detector 300 µm AD-102
New ultrasonic air bubble detector 300 µm AD-102
For 25 years, AMSYS has been advising customers on the use of sensors for industrial and, increasingly, medical applications. With the AD-102, the Mainz-based sales company now offers a high-precision air bubble detector. This is used to detect an interruption in fluid flow in applications such as infusion pumps, hemodialysis, blood flow monitoring, but also in 3D printing and food processing. The compact AD-102 air bubble detector (ABD) is used for
AST H2 - Pressure Transmitter for hydrogen applications
AST H2 - Pressure Transmitter for hydrogen applications
Hydrogen will play a steadily increasing role among renewable energies. However, the processing and handling of this fuel also presents us with new challenges. With the AST2000 and AST4000, AMSYS offers two variants of a pressure transducer specially certified for applications with hydrogen. With the EC79 certificate, these pressure sensors are suitable for use in fuel cells, hydrogen storage tanks and filling stations. The sensors are made from a single
MS5547 - Digital gel-protected gauge pressure sensor
MS5547 - Digital gel-protected gauge pressure sensor
Gel-protected pressure sensors in SMD housings are very popular due to their wide range of applications, whether in pneumatics, wearables or medical technology. This inexpensive yet robust design is now also available in a version for relative pressure up to 2 bar. Media resistant gauge pressure sensors like the MS5547 are used in very different areas, such as in medical technology, but also in e-cigarettes. Both a biocompatible silicone gel and
Pressure sensor AMS 5935 - the power saver in the low-pressure range
Pressure sensor AMS 5935 - the power saver in the low-pressure range
The monitoring of everyday wearables, sports and mobile medical equipment is becoming increasingly widespread. The sensors and components in these often battery-powered devices have a high energy requirement which necessitates frequent battery recharging. One bright spot in this field is the new next-generation AMS 5935 low-power pressure sensor which can accurately measure even extremely low pressures in the +/-125 pascal range. AMSYS (https://www.amsys-sensor.com) has now introduced sustainable sensors to its portfolio
