Offenburg caterer starts mobile payment with GO4Q

Enjoy with all senses - a frequently quoted statement, which is rarely implemented as consistently as in the delicatessen and specialties business “CULINAR” in the city of Offenburg (Germany). But what’s often said so easily can truly be felt here. Here, products of small manufacturers are preferred, who pay attention to sustainability and regional goods. At “CULINAR”, only the best products of the region, France and Italy come together, starting from fine wines, sausage and cheese specialties to everyday products like milk, butter or cream. All these products have a level of quality, known almost exclusively from the friendly butcher or farmer. A concept that works through its deliberate manner - and now even a little more. The relaxed, high-level-shopping experience is now continued at the checkout, by using mobile payment via mobile phone. Innovative, modern and simple: a QR code with the value of the receipt is scanned and confirmed, done! No more worries about forgotten purses or the constant search for suitable small change.

The technique is deliberately in the background. For the owners John and Ursula Koller, this was particularly important: "Our customers should focus on the buying experience with all their senses, and should not even have to think about how to pay at the cash register.” “GO4Q”, the technical solution used, is implemented by the IT experts of the company “it-werke”, located in the near town of Lahr. If the customer wants to pay, the seller simply types in the amount of the bill into a tablet (e.g. Nexus 7). This generates a QR code that contains all the information. Now, the customer only needs to scan this QR code with his smartphone, confirm with his PIN - done! "We didn’t want a bulky hardware solution in our store. That would not fit the restrained and reduced shopping experience. The tablet solution of “it-werke” met our needs perfectly and is easy to integrate", said owner Ursula Buchner-Koller. The result for the customer is a consistently harmonious shopping experience, from entering the store to payment at the register. The necessary security mechanisms for mobile payment is brought by the “GO4Q” App itself, explains Ulrich Kipper, CEO of “it-werke”: "We use specially patented processes - no sensitive data is stored on the phone. With years of service and experience in the payment sector, we understand the importance of secure payment methods and have therefore already integrated the necessary features. Therefore, I can tell you now: payment by mobile phone is just as secure as paying with a debit or credit card. And even slimmer and easier. "

In addition to Offenburg’s caterer, more and more companies rely on secure mobile payment with “GO4Q”. Beer gardens and taxi companies, everything is possible. Much more information about mobile payment can also be found on the internet at www.go4q.mobi
