"More Connected Than Separated," Adventists in Germany Join Catholics, Orthodox, Protestants, Buddhists, Jews and Muslims to Promote a Common Hope
On July 4, 2022, Seventh-day Adventists in Germany joined representatives of the different religions to pray for peace, work together, exchange ideas, increase mutual understanding, and "tackle the challenges of climate change together." Religions for Peace, a local ecumenical chapter in Germany, organized this meeting. This organization is a multi-religious global coalition of churches from over 90 countries. The July 4, 2022 event was led by Dr. Elisabeth Naurath, Chairwoman of the German branch of Religions for Peace.Mittelbayerische is the regional secular newspaper for Bavaria, Germany that published this report. One of the subtitles for the interfaith encounter that they published was titled "More Connected Than Separated." In addition to promoting unity and addressing the challenges of climate change, the following highlights were also provided by the local newspaper:
• Elisabeth Naurath spoke out in favor of working not against each other but together for one world. "We need peace in order to be able to tackle the challenges of climate change together," she emphasized, calling on the clergy to use their means to promote peace. Seen worldwide, religions are growing and not shrinking. "We have a common hope."
• "The things that unite us are far more than those that separate us," said Pastor Martin Müller from the Catholic parish of Herz Jesu, explaining the group's unifying thoughts.
• "Buddhist cleric Bop-U Stabnau came along with Gjomu Yun-Dok Lee. The clergy presented a chanted mantra supported by a wooden sound box, a moktak."
• "Florian Fink was there for the first time for the Free Church of the Seventh-day Adventists."
• "The Jewish community sent their RFP (Religions for Peace) representatives Wladimir Barsky and Jakob Denisenko."
• "Clergymen from different religions have met several times a year to exchange ideas in order to increase mutual understanding."
• "Christian, Jewish, Muslim and Buddhist representatives prayed in the multi-generation house."
• "The Russian Orthodox Church also made a memorable singing contribution with two representatives."
• "Two Muslim representatives took part, Imam Birol Basara from the Regensburg Ditib community and Usman Naveed from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat community. Both imams shared suras from the Koran with the visitors in a memorable voice."
When will we realize that these churches have nothing to offer us and that we have everything to offer them?

Knowing how busy church leaders are during these sessions, I asked if he had time to answer just one question. He stopped to look at me, and I asked him directly, "Why don't you preach the Three Angels' Messages? Why do you only preach Jesus?" As he began…
